For sure India are more parochial when it comes to cricket. Probably Pakistan and the Lankans too.
However, if you put the numbers of footy fans (afl, nrl, football) together, i still think cricket numbers (supporters) outnumber them

More bowling without luck then impotent. Jaiswal could have nicked off about 10 times so far this innings. Still, that's been how to play this pitch, doesn't matter how you get through the first 10 overs then you can start to pick up the scoring rates.

Yes, pretty disappointing that we seem to be clearly outnumbered in terms of support, particularly in our own country.
Another possible reason is Indians do seem to be a lot more excited, demonstrative and loud in their support, cheering every single and defensive shot as if it’s a boundary. Australians on the other hand are generally a lot more sedate and don’t display their emotions in the same manner.

That’s true and someone like Marsh who can contribute as a bowler you’d think would try and get as fit as he can, though it also appeared like his future lay as virtually a specialist batsman at one point so maybe he pretty much left the bowling alone.
Pant is lucky to still be alive after his accident so I can understand him just being focused on his batting.
Sharma does look a bit like he just doesn’t care I must say
