He's actually been average for a while IMO but done just enough here and there to keep his spot, plus the team loves "stability".
The 'GOAT' aura has probably bought him a few more years too.
His days of being a world class attacking spinner are done though.

He's been closer to that now then what he was when he younger, seeing Lyon is going at a sub 65 SR in recent years, though the Goat has typically been more defensive then offensive.

Most of Lyons struggles here are just "India in Australia".
