While the 3rd umpire made the right call, his reasoning for part of it was also very suspect.
When he asked for a freeze frame and then said 'I can see clearly it is touching the glove', that's not something that should inform the call. Single frames can be misleading and there was nothing conclusive about that frame at all.
It was the obvious deflection using multiple frames that was conclusive.
