😂😂😂😂

Because of the pink ball test, had 6 wickets @ 35 from the red ball tests before this game…

So in a massive sample size of two tests he had 6 wickets at an average slightly below par and roughly similar to what Brydon Carse’s first class average (34) was before England picked him. From playing in England county cricket.

Our selection of Mitch Marsh reeks of arrogance that we wouldn't need his bowling (because our four bowlers will just get it done) or his batting (because our top order is going so well)
The whole selection process is arrogant. Over bowl our quicks when there’s plenty of opportunity to rotate and play to everyone’s strengths, the evidence is very clear that they drop off later in series.

Plus no pressure at all on any of the top 6. The way other batsmen have looked untroubled on this pitch really puts an asterisk on Khawaja and Marnus “finding form”.

Day 3 is the first Aussie off day for a while.
Played well all 4 days in Adelaide.
All 5 days in Brisbane around the inclement weather
First two days of Melbourne.
11 good days of test cricket.
But the Indians only need a sniff to get back in the game.

God there are some miserable whackers on this forum - “selection reeks of arrogance” “media coverage of Konstas affecting his next innings” . Similar to people saying Bumrah would roll Konstas for nothing, we would be 3/nothing.

Cheer up, enjoy what has been an enjoyable game so far.

I think you're a bit ahead of yourself here.

I can see us absolutely shitting ourselves in the second dig and getting rolled.

I believe we're mentally fragile as a side and inclined to panic far too often with the bat.

The thing in our favour here is this really is a featherbed at the moment, and hopefully it starts to die and keep low which will help us if we have enough in the bank. The closer they get here, the less likely that is.

Possibly although if we are at least 100 in front even if we get rolled for 200 it's still a good lead.

I was more saying if we are thinking about declaring would we give them a sniff and risk losing the game or just bat for 1.5 days for a draw. As we might have to risk losing it to win it now.

I heard someone describe him as the David Brent of cricket. Perfect summary imo.
'
That is harsh on David Brent, he was terrible at his job but he was at least funny unlike Langer.

We've been told Marsh can bowl if needed, his speed has been 115-125km.

If we bowl them out this session with an 60-100 run lead the match is pretty well poised, with all 3 results very possible. The draw is favourite but just because wickets have been hard to come by, doesn't guarantee that the batting will be immaculate in the respective second innings.

If we don't get Reddy out soon they will get close to 400 which means the lead is around 70 which is game on and we would need to post at least 200 to make India nervous.

Yep fair call.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us rolled for 150.

I'll probably need a new Telly if that happens.

39 overs left for the day, 6:45pm finish time… if umpires don’t bring bad light into it

Wont get that many overs unless they bowl 2 spinners I give it 20 Max before they call light.
