I'm getting so sick of the selection culture in Aussie cricket.

  • Giving players send off series and send off games, at the expense of blooding the next in the line
  • Giving players HUGE rope to ride out bad form in international games
  • Having players in positions, which requires bowling utility, who are so physically brittle, that they cannot bowl more than 5 overs
  • Running our top bowlers into the ground, instead of rotating them around to keep them fresh (aka Starc CLEARLY needs a rest, yet we keep trundling him out and likely now under an injury cloud).

Just gives me the utter shits. Like, why pick a "squad" if you never use it - it's such juvenile and naive selection policy.

Look at India. They actually use their squad well. If certain batsmen are low on form/confidence, they swap them out for other prospects to immediate gain. They rotate their bowling order to try and complement their main strike bowler to better effect with Akash Deep.

Our selection policy just screams boys club and reputations making the shots, rather than the betterment of the team now and into the future. Just have some balls and actually tell grown adult cricketers "your form is shite, we're going to play this guy as he's in good form".

We have a selection policy based in 1920s gentlemen cricket and its doing my head in.

Bumrah is good but it's mostly how bad we are. Anyone in the country could do better than Marsh at batting or bowling. Neser was always the better cricketer at test level - consistent too. It's really a silly game - all these grown men and a tiny red ball. India 2-1 100% The crooked head guy who bowls slowly defeats a very average team.
