We are 1/4 of the way to the win largely because he has rattled them.

No need to hit in the air. They have four fielders on the boundary so gaps everywhere for ones and twos. Surely Khawaja was telling him the same thing. Ridiculous shot in the circumstances

I don't think Konstas would listen to that kind of advice, was probably feeling himself and thought they were bowling so poorly it would be easy

while there's a couple of glaring issues to work on he has to stay in the side now. at such a young age he already has teams starting two fielders behind square on the boundary. they were terrified of his movement in the crease. it's a poor shot and clearly gets a bit too overconfident but he needs time in the middle at this level to learn

Hopefully being away from the home crowd will allow him to temper down a bit and play normally, he obviously can as evidenced by his Shield and PM XI innings.

Konstas has played pretty differently at shield and not this reckless.

I just feel the coaching staff need to have a word to get him to temper the aggression a bit. Feel like it’s a bit of a rush of blood more than anything.

Without Bumrah, India are a lot less threatening and can play much more on the bad balls, rather than trying to create scoring opportunities through aggression.

Still - orders might have been by coaching staff for Konstas to play aggressively much like India did, as the wicket is a bit of a minefield.

People here are pretty brutal on the kid. He’s again put good early pressure on and scored a good chunk of the tally. Got out going too hard, but he will learn. He plays Shield far more conservatively.

Yeah agree, I reckon a combination of that and the success of 1st innings MCG has seen him continue this approach.

Konstas learnt a valuable lesson today because he has thrown away the chance to get a good score relatively easily. He needs to fail at the level to learn the lessons. When he gets the balance right he will be an absolute superstar, needs to be be afforded failures at the level in order to get better.

Depends how you interpret it. It's certainly not a home game for Boland either. It's only "neutral" because the home team isn't playing. But the game is an away game because the match is being played outside the competing teams home country.

Yeah that’s a good point. I suppose we could potentially have been 1 or 2 down for half the runs after 10 overs.

I stress this is not a point I love to make. Fact is though it worked.

Also have to remember if Cummins/McDonald did not want him to play this way they would surely have intervened.

The ragged bowling to Marnus is in part down to Konstas putting the bowlers off their games.
