Bloke was basically a frontline bowler in his prime, bowling 140s - still haven't had as good a pace allrounder since him in our test team imo. Hoping Green can come close.

Watson was fast at the start of his career but his body couldn’t cope with it. He finished up bowling medium pace swing and seam

That is because under Taylor and S Waugh we used to practice catching ruthlessly. Both were heavily influenced by Bob Simpson and supported by Marsh and Buchanan.

No other captain-coach combo has done the same.

WA Tom Moody, he was a star all rounder for WA but wasn't that great for Australia.
