Looking at the pitch I reckon you’d be ok with losing the toss and getting a bowl. I wonder if it’s rock hard or a bit soft and grabby. It will absolutely turn by day though.

Weather looks ok so should be interesting to see how the test unfolds.

I wasn’t suggesting that we do, but in fairness you whine if we bowl first anywhere.

What I was saying is that green grass on a pitch is often used to say it will favour the bowlers early on, but it really depends on the clay beneath as much if not more as to whether it will. The grass may be deceptive.

FWIW I’d always bat first given the situation we are in and the ground we are playing at - ahead in the series, with some rain coming.

Webster is likely to be another 1-5 test bog average player who is reasonable at state level but is unable to dominate at test level. Cupboard must be bare as.

Quite likely, and fitting him to a team in SL is difficult, but he's a likely upgrade on the incumbent.
No guarantees of course in one match, a good ball or one false shot ends anyone, but on the percentages definitely a likely improvement.
If an all-rounder is being picked, he's the best option the for the next match (i.e. today) and therefore the correct choice - success or not, the correct pick on exposed form.
