That was mostly just funny because we won it on the back of winning a bunch of tosses in a row, with our test bowling lineup and not paying any attention to the format, as well as some silly innings from Matthew Wade

A good win, but it might be the last one we have for some time, the team is old and even the new boy Webster is 31. At least Webster played like a Test cricketer. I was a huge supporter of Konstas until today, but after that shot he is NOT the future of Australia's top order at the moment. Usman is 38, Smith is 36 in June, Boland is 36 in April, Mitchell Starc is 35 in a few weeks, Hazlewood is 34 in a couple of days, Marnus could be lost and he's a youngin' at 31 this year! Konstas should be one of the batting answers, but i have my doubts now. Can't wait for Green to return. The other replacements might be hard to find and are pretty thin on the ground. Still, this win was a good one, but i suspect the team come Boxing day 2025 could be a vastly different one. We could see 5 or 6 new players facing the Poms?

I’d expect us to win one of those Sri Lankan tests later this month. They will be hard to face in their conditions though. I think we have 3 tests against the Windies in the Caribbean too and I’d expect us to win that too.

Hopefully Green is fit to perhaps slot back in at 4 and move Smith to 3 for that Windies tour and trial Marnus to open if Ussie retires after the WTC final.

I feel like England will win a test or 2 next summer if there are some flatter pitches where their big hitters go beserk. I still maintain faith this team would be able to stick it out for longer though.

Kontas has the shots and talent, he was milking 2 2s on the leg side off good length balls since the field was spread out and then tried to smash the next ball off a good length. He can play the long innings as shown in Shield cricket as he has the talent.

No doubting the talent, but he does not have the temperament yet. Today was an absolute shocker and he was completely outshone by Webster. Konstas just had a lesson on "there is a time and place for everything". He might be lucky that Usman is 38, but he's years off being a top opening batsman.

I said Kohli as reported, was annoyed that they were filming him with his family and in that context, with some of the over zealous fanaticism Indian media and supporters can show, I can understand the reaction.

Pleasantly surprised I was wrong. Thought - on past experience- we would crumble chasing anything above 150. Shows how helpful it is to actually have a muddle order batsman in form…let alone an extra bowler. Will be interesting to see what happens when Green back in. Could they perhaps drop Marnus and leave Webster in? Would be an awfully useful attack

Boland was his 'boring' brilliant self. Lose Hazlewood and you gain Boland . Showed everyone how to bowl dry but ge threatening. Deadly duo of skills .

Webster looks ready made for test cricket after honing his craft on a fairly bowling friendly Bellerive.
Simply is the better option over Marsh and proved it .

Kholi has reverted to his old self . Can't talk with the willow so the angry little man is back . Should have got weeks for the shoulder charge but we know how those things work .
