Fielder gets in my eye line and I want him out of there, adds some annoying banter to boot, one sure way to potentially get rid of them: spank a couple of shots through that region. Becomes a bit of a ‘who blinks first’ battle

I do agree generally with what you're saying about hitting through the silly mid off. But considering Jaiswal first had a whinge about him being there and then they were such bad shots in the contest of the match, I do think he was trying to ping him more than trying to get him moved. We weren't going to move him if he cracked a few into or through him - particularly if he was playing high risk shots to get him gone.

And how did he disrespect India in general?

• Was it the way he batted? Because that was a specific plan which recognised how good Bumrah has been and that a different approach was needed. That’s hardly disrespectful.
• Was it the celebrations? Because Jadeja pretends he has a sword every time he makes a 50, is that disrespectful?
• Was it the signing autographs? Because I saw just as many Indian fans getting autographs.

From my observation there was one incident where he crossed the line, compared to multiple the other way. And when he was provoked he did not respond. Watch after the Bumrah thing how many players get in his face, he does not bite back at any of them.

You’ve said you thought Jaiswal to Starc was good banter which I agree, but how does that differ from anything Konstas did?

If we’re talking disrespecting the game though let’s look at some real examples.

• Giving a send off to a player that has made 140. Then blaming said player in the media and taking no responsibility for the resulting incident.
• Intentionally making physical contact with another player in attempt to intimidate them.
• Showing clear dissent for umpiring decisions (at least 3 clear examples).

The only thing I could possibly critique Bumrah on in the time-wasting Konstas situation was that he was complaining about time wasting (and rightfully so) and then bit back to Konstas thus further wasting time and effectively doing Khawajas job for him.

Even then, that's minor as it probably wasn't in doubt anyway that another over wouldn't be bowled but it is something that a leader should be mindful of regardless and should perhaps pick his battles a little more wisely. It also would've been a far more impactful statement to give it back to Konstas after the wicket after having ignored him entirely during the incident.

Australia deserved their series win and should have been 4-1 in the end. Great win!

Just add the time on with tax, I think. If they waste a minute, set stumps or tea back 2 minutes.
