Watched "Bye Bye Barry" doco on Prime about NFL player Barry Sanders. Couldn't help but think of the Warlord, t with his explosiveness, evasiveness, bouncing off would be tacklers, even his down to earth attitude. Its a good watch even if you have no interest in NFL.
Probably the best player I ever saw. Used to love watching his games in the 90s, Lions were my second team because of him.

Completely wasted in Detroit because they never went anywhere, but he never left them, so I admire him even more for sticking it out with them.

I remember his first day at the club. He and the other new recruits were doing run throughs. Nothing extreme just at about 75% max.

I thought to myself “gee whiz this guy looks miles off it” as sheez and cooper strode confidently out and left him panting and miles behind.

He’s come along way since then physically.

Never been worried about his body anyway.

Wardlaw was super mindful of his conditioning throughout 2023 and reported any niggles along the way. That helps as much as the strength and conditioning staff coming into play. Sometimes players push through injury too often and it hampers them even further. When he's at peak fitness and AFL wear and tear, look out.

He'll be a star.

He's going to be a solid unit. Seems to have that body type

christ i hope his body holds up
Not trying to draw a player type comparison as such, but there is a bit of Gary Ablett (senior and younger) in his body type. Explosive and stacks on muscle particularly around the hips and legs.

good comparison so far as body type is concerned
Hopefully a better career than those 2....

Yeah. Wouldn't want to waste a top 5 pick.

I remember cunners reporting foot soreness in his first year resulting in a lay off, but staff praising him as would have meant a lot longer time on the sidelines had he tried to push through it. A lot to be said for that level of professionalism, yeah they're impatient and want to impress, but so important to build slowly and make sure the body is ready for the workload to setup for a long productive career.

Quadlaw holy *!
