A mate of mine is a bit of a track watcher and has always said Wardlaw is better than Sheezel. Hope he is right.

Been big on Wardlaw since I first seen him play in under 16’s. I’m not expecting the world considering his lead in, but would love to see just a couple of real explosive clearance and a few lace out kicks.

Trust me, we’ve all got plenty to look forward to with this kid.

I've seen it on the track and I've seen it in VFL games.

You’d love to have seen it proven over an entire season, but I’d still say Wardlaw is the best inside midfield prospect that I’ve ever seen.

Some might wish that he had a bit more weight/height to be that big bodied mid, but his natural power gives him a lot of those same advantages. He instead gets to combine that power with a low centre of gravity and what should be an elite ground ball game.

He’ll also be the quickest inside mid in the AFL, both in top and average speed. You can have speed, but you also need the skill and mentality to play quick, which Wardlaw definitely has.

He has a lot to prove, but the athletic profile is generational and on top of that he is a natural footballer.

We all know his injury history, which combined with the fact that he plays the toughest position in the AFL means that it may be a quiet day for him, but there’s going to be obvious talent flashes and by the end of the day I’m sure we’ll all be sold that he is a special talent.
