I keep telling any of you campaigners who will listen - Bulldogs 5th means shit, just like Bulldogs 7th in 2016. They're just 2 wins off the minor premiers in both seasons, and in the top 2 or 3 for most of the years, only dropping a peg due to a 'surprise' loss or two. I say 'surprise' because in both cases, it was towards the end of those seasons where they most likely upped their training loads and prepped for an assault on the finals. It's the Bevo way

And just like 2016 vs Sydney, they've defeated the minor premier during the season.

I expect Melbourne to be favourites, and it's just how the Bulldogs like it. Write them off at your own peril

You have Daniel, we have Salem - i expect both to be tagged in some form.
both have killer contested mids, tag one there's another 2 that can kill you.
both have small fwds who can mop up ground balls and score.

maybe it comes down to defense .. obviously the dogs will try and employ the "dont kick it to lever" strategy.

I think it's great it's in Perth. Genuinely neutral crowd in a footy-mad city revved up to see a titanic encounter between two awesome teams.

I agree, but I remember how great it was for us in 2016, something I didn’t think I would feel in my lifetime and I’d like the demons to experience the same atmosphere (even if I hope they don’t win).

This GF is going to be a classic.

In the red and blue corner we have one of the best teams I’ve seen in a long time. They have all the ingredients.

Strong system. Incredibly disciplined and even under immense pressure they believe in their structures and plan.

Heroic leaders in the Trac, Oliver and Gawn.When the tough gets going they have guys who can change the momentum of a game:

Unbelievable defense. May, Lever and Salem are as good as any defence ive ever seen. Intercept marks still doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Not only does it thwart an attack it enables rebound fast enough to challenge a zone. They do this better than anyone I’ve seen, whilst being fierce shutdown defenders too, with Salem setting up 2-3 other guys to rebound.

They also have players everywhere who fly under the radar. From Fritch to Langdon to Spargo to Pickett. So many players capable of impacting an ark wrestle.

But if I had to find one weakness it’s speed. And the Dogs have it in spades.

If Beveridge isn’t already telling them, the Dogs must be manically fast with handball and kicking to win this. Good thing is they’re like that for the most part anyway.

if I was a Demon I’d be worried if the Dogs turned up with Matrix like speed, even at the expense of quality. If you have the courage to fast and keep running I think you can win.

Our outside mids aren't as dynamic/explosive as yours, but they (Gus, Langdon, Jordon) are very good defensively.

Langdon's been unbelievable of late, a top 3 runner in the league and plays something like 94% gametime. Lots of respect for those guys

Fitting outcome and a huge opportunity for both clubs. Will never begrudge a club trying to break a drought and Melbourne deserve to be where they are, neck deep in a fairytale. I feel like our best footy is good enough, on our day. The “on our day” part is the trickey one here.

2016 we got a lot of support around the traps, I think I’d probably enjoy playing the party pooper and it being one for the diehards a little more exclusively If it were to fall that way this year. Either way, it hurts not being able to be there.

I'll put my hand up and say that I was overly critical of the dogs. I genuinely felt the umpires had really helped them in many wins but now after such a convincing win against Port in Port there's no doubt in my mind that they deserve to be in the GF and the best 2 teams are in it.

Their good footy is very good and I wish that the Lions beat them in the final because I'd be so much more confident against anyone else.

This could be a classic. Both teams in form And could go either way.

i think it will come down to two players if the game is a blowout. If Gawn has a blinder like the Prelim think Dees will win.

If Naughton lights it up Dogs will win. He is compared to Carey with his attack on the ball and if can he pull out a Carey like performance game is over.

Max is my favourite player outside dogs and really respect Trac. However Oliver, Fritsch and Hunt really rub me the wrong way even though Oliver is a gun.
