Swans had guys like Adam Goodes, Martin mattner , Lewis Roberts Thompson and Bolton out injured though.

But yeah watching that 2nd and 3rd quarter of that 2013 prelim between Freo and swans was scarily similar to the 2nd and 3rd quarter of that 2017 AFL Grand final.

Both teams that won those games chased and tackled hard all game.

Honestly: am celebrating that hard. But....Melbourne have been in a bit of a comfortable coma all season just doing what they needed to to win and even on half an arse had been doing it very, very well. Will come back with fire, they needed this loss. I'm just glad from a personal point of view that we could inflict it. But yeah, they'll be terrifying the rest of the year

Maybe, it's yet to be seen whether Melbourne will do as you say. I totally agree with the first bit though that they have been winning games without getting out of third gear and I've wondered when it would finally catch up with them.

Let's see how they respond.

For most people I sure that how they view in.
For me, I think this their best I ever witnessed.
Never went on with it to win premiership so dead end win.
This win now is in a season where they could win their first premiership as a club.
This win's massive in context of Demon's form since grand final day.
This right now, is the club's best chance to ever win a premiership.
No time like the present.

Nah. It make no sense to retrospectively downgrade the Geelong win because of what happened after it while inflating this win just because you don't know the future yet.

The Geelong final was our best ever win and will probably stay that way until we win a grand final.
