For anyone who subscribes to the 'Geelong's different this year', I reckon we would have been down by 3-5 goals in years gone by (or even earlier this season: see Collingwood and Hawthorn) after that start.

Had some luck with the umpires no question, but been a good game so far.

Why do we have such unbalanced umpiring so often in this game?

We have more than half the league in one state, the entire power base situated in the same place, and the media in the same place, and they just saturate the populace with their vfl propaganda.

As I mentioned in another thread recently, this is the league that flew a patch of grass to brisbane at massive cost with so much fanfare it rivaled beatlemania.

Aussie rules football is the greatest sport in the world

The Australian football league is a Mickey Mouse league joke of an administration run by an incestuous boys club

Garbage…..

Dunno about “blatant” umpire support but they (Geelong) certainly have had the rub of the green. Both sides playing good Footy at a frenetic pace, scoreboard probably reflects where the game should be. Port with more scoring shots but lower % opportunities reflected by relative inaccuracy versus Geelong with less scores but high accuracy.

Umpiring will tidy up and if Port can sustain this (they have the ability to build into a game) they can win.

I’m enjoying it as a neutral who benefits nothing from either side winning, realistically.
