There is a difference between dropping it and throwing it though. Wasn’t intentional but he still propelled the ball forward, very different to if the ball had fallen at his feet in a handball attempt.

It was explained on AFL360 by an umpire. It is not a freekick if they have no prior and attempt to dispose of it. Even if it isn't a successful handball
