Everything against Zorko has been there, and both sides have been well looked after with the lack of HTB.

Zorko's first was clearly high, 50 was dumb and you can't hit a head when they're picking the ball up. Simple.

Thoughts on the unpaid HTB in the forward pocket where D'Ambrosio tried to fend off with the one arm? Or when Hardwick decided to body check the Brisbane player trying to take a mark?

Ginni clearly ducked into it.

I think the issue is the clear lack of consistency of the rules.

The only thing against the 50 is they don’t pay those types often enough. It’s a clear interference to try hold up the fast play, they just need to crack down on it. Zorko unlucky in the sense that it’s probably only paid a third of the time but it was definitely deserved.

The 50 is the only one. The rest is cheating from you losers

Will Day has been unreal so far. Sicily too.

Sicily 9 touches, 7 kicks at 89% with 3 intercepts 3 marks and 3 rebounds
Day 8 touches, 100% DE, 3 contested with 1 goal, goal assist and 3 score involvements + 4 marks (1 contested), 2 tackles and 2 inside 50s.

Or a clear instruction for Zorko to tackle sloppily & attempt to time waste to help his defence.
1 out of 3 is fine because everyone makes mistakes but 3 out of 3 for basically the same infringement is chronic. When the Lions decide not to turn up they are really the best there is.

Putting it out there - I think I’ve seen enough. If Hawks can nail one of their 2024 & 2025 top 10 picks and get a decent tall, I reckon Sam Mitchell is the man to take Hawthorn to their next flag.

He’s intelligent but also passionate. Even with Brisbanes injuries, Hawks side today isn’t as experienced or talented as Brisbane (nor should it be expected to be). But Mitchell has them well drilled and this is the outcome when the talent level is balanced. At the moment when they come up against a decent side fully fit Ala Sydney or Melbourne earlier in the year, they’re well behind, but I’m a believer in Mitchell.

Didn't see Hardwicks, but D'Ambrosio was HTB, as was the other on the wing against Brisbane. They aren't paying it either way.

Ginni played with it but was already high.

As mentioned, separate issue.

We shall look forward to the rules being applied correctly for both sides then.
Just because the umpires are useless doesn't mean clear free kicks shouldn't be paid in some cases, rather than in no cases. I get it's frustrating but umpires need to be told when they get it right as much as when they get it wrong.
