Terrible umpiring again in final minutes again. HTB rule remains a mess.

I feel he just calls it as he sees/feels it - and whether that aligns with the current rules, or even more current “tweak of the week” doesn't matter.

But tonight anyway, more often than now, he and the Dillon/Kane rules this week disagreed

A poor decision can easily cost goals in the first quarter. We don’t need more stoppages fatigue in important in our game

The late-game review system idea would never work for AFL and I would rather watch Geelong lose 100 straight matches by a point after a terrible late umpiring decision, than have the sport ruined by adding an in-play review system.

Have to say I had 0 faith in Simpkin standing up but that’s the first bit of leadership this club has seen on field since 2016.

Eagles can write this game off without Reid or Kelly they got smashed in the middle, Yeo is a must keep though for them just to help guide the new crop as he will bring them 2-3 wins a year still.

Very very average game that will not be replayed anytime soon but thank **** we have avoided a winless season
