Unbeatable at home but still huge question marks over the Suns away. On form they should be winning this handsomely, so this is their chance to stand up and do it. Going to be fascinating to see if they can.

Nah it wont. It will be “its only St Kilda” if we win

Despite the fact that our losses away to Sydney, GWS, Carlton, Brisbane and Bulldogs wont be different to other teams that will also lose (more than likely) to these same teams away. Because like they’re the best teams.

Its the teams below us and more importantly the ones around us (just above and below) that we need to beat.

The result will be season defining. Win and they at least take a big step by probably playing finals. Will be good experience for the young squad. Lose and it'll be same old same old, see ya next year.

Big game for the Suns in the context of our season. If we can win this one then it really sets us up for a crack at the finals with a record of 8W 5L going into the bye. Just like last week against the Bombers, we have a fairly poor historical record against the Saints and there doesn't appear to be a good reason for that. So a win tonight would not only be our first away win of 2024, but would also break a bit of a mental hoodoo the playing group seems to have against the Saints (just like last week against the Bombers). Would also really like to see Ben King have a big game and put some distance between himself and Charlie Curnow in the Coleman tally.

Suns by 25 points.

What it will do is kill the narrative that the Suns can't win on the road (last time I checked Darwin wasn't in Queensland... but I digress). Having said that, I think if you look at who the Suns have played on the road then you'll find that they've faced some serious opposition on the road this year and it probably explains their record - Sydney, GWS, Brisbane, Carlton and the Bulldogs. With the exception of the Bulldogs, which was really early on in R3 when they hadn't really got the new game plan down pat, the other away losses would be expected for most other teams in the league. This Saints game is probably the first time the Suns have been on the road this year and face a team that almost all onlookers would say they should win.

Suns favourite away from home will be interesting to see how they go with that tag. Pivotal game for them and finals ambition.. saints pretty good without the fav tag I think… saints by a bit.
The bookies have the Saints as the $1.80 favourites now. Must have been a fair amount of money put on St Kilda over the last few days because the Suns were the favourites earlier in the week.

Could end up being huge in the context of the season when you look back on it later in the year. You can't make finals if you don't win away. Adelaide proved that last year.

Looking forward to this game and surely the Suns have to win away from home soon????

Saints wont score more than say 70odd pts going on the season average so far and do the Suns have 12 goals in em against a team that is so defensively minded and drilled?
