Cats need a win to keep pace with the top 6. Form wise it doesn’t look likely . Ruck, midfield and what’s happening with Stewart are all concerning …. Forwards can’t create much damage either with soft entries from thin midfield efforts. Blues should win .

I don't think we really have the forward to play that defensive role on Stewart. Maybe Kennedy who has done it in the past on a Lever type...?

I think Williams will play the negating role, similar to the Port game on Aliir
Although, Stewart is a quality player and they would have looked at strategies over the bye
Personally, I'd play Stewart on a wing and then sit in front of the back 6
I think everyone has been looking forward to playing Geelong for the past 6 weeks so, make no mistake, Carlton supporters will be delirious with excitement heading into this one. But keeping a lid on it and bragging once the points are secured is a safer option just in case.Where are all those cocky Carlton supporters who kept telling me they look forward to meeting again later in the year??
Well, here it is and I like my boys to get the job done (again).

The Blues are in very good form so I'm not expectant your prediction will play out.
We'll see.
I remain pretty bullish on Carlton as a "best of the rest" contender (and anything can happen on GF day). They are a flawed side but have enough weapons to cover for it, and have fixed up some of the areas that were holding them back earlier in the year ("personnel" screeches are coming, but it's deeper than that).
The standard of the comp is fairly weak after Sydney. Collingwood with a full list will be up there. Carlton are. GWS, Geelong and Melbourne have dropped off. Port and Brisbane remain fairly flaky. Essendon are thereabouts but not premier-material.
It wouldn't really surprise me if any of those sides make prelims though.

You made the same predictions vs Gold Coast and Essendon, keep up your negative strike rate.
I'd never write the Cats off but the Blues should get this done by 4 goals.

I wish just once that Geelong side got a soft kill on grand final day - you get many of them in the modern era.
Would've been a good day to be a Blues supporter, for sure.

I think we are gone if we lose friday night, 1 win from 7 games you should never play finals if that happens.

Have you seen our recent form at home? I think either we have to win either this week or next week (Essendon at the G) to justify our finals spot. Maybe then we turn it around. Lose both and we look a long way off it and suddenly games like Hawthorn and the Dogs in Geelong are tricky.

Last time we played, Geelong’s efficiency & Carlton’s lack thereof was the difference.
Carlton 20+ more inside 50’s, many more possessions & clearances - just couldn’t kick a goal!
Geelongs 5.2 , Carlton 2.8 in the first qtr!
Carlton haven’t been as wasteful since.
Williams forward has been a win. Cincotta tagging, Saad & McGovern back in the team shoring up our defence.
