Brisbane have benefitted from Marcus Ashcroft producing two sons that are elite. Ashcroft was the definition of a good role player, but certainly not a star (unlike Peter Daicos or Ablett Snr), no idea how his sons have turned out to be number one picks haha

Rankine - talented but unsure if he is a natural midfielder and has the tank
Dawson - more your cherry on top utility midfielder, unsure if he can grind and play in the wet
Soligo - more your 3rd midfielder not 1st or 2nd
Crouch and Laird - nothing more needs to be said
Very unbalanced midfield.

Rankine is one of the fittest players at the club and played some elite games as a pure mid this year (Giants game off the top of my head), wtf
You didn't see us make significant development in the midfield despite Nicks??? He played Rankine there in the Round 1 and then didn't use him there until Round 5, then Rankine missed 8 games due to injury and suspension but Nicks didn't use Dawson in there??? Soligo started very well and won the Showdown medal but faded late in the season and M.Crouch was injured for most of season.

Maybe not tank but physicality for the repetitive grind every single week and to shake off the tag.
Issue with Rankine in the midfield is not his tank, far from it. It’s his inability to want to go near an opponent/play any defence at stoppages around the ground, especially any around the opposition 50.
They are the midfield group leading us next year. Laird hasn't played there toward the backend of the season and Berry will only be depth with Curtin and Taylor to move a head of him in the pecking order next year.

Rankine has the tank (GCS trained him for midfield minute the season he requested a trade when Dew told the AFL in the preseason he will surprise a lot of people as a midfielder).
Dawson made AA as a midfielder last year.
Soligo won the Showdown medal and show what he is capable of producing.
Laird has been moved out of the midfield late in the season and Crouch was injured for most of the season but last year looked back to his AA and B&F form of 2017.

Only 4 games > 50% CBA (only 2 games > 60% CBA). Most games 20-30% CBA. So, it's a fair question if Rankine can play as full time midfielder the whole season. Or is it just Nicks.
So just like Butters and JHF? I haven't noticed this as an inability this year with 50% of his possessions are contested.
I feel a little bit for the power fans. The media defence of hinkley is nauseating. Such a contemptuous refusal to take any accountability for a team and list he has built over more than a decade. When they do well it's his genius on display, when they lose in the same fashion over multiple years he's a hard done by maestro conducting a bunch of mostly incompetent jokers.

Well, that's just Nicks being Nicks. If you look at his HM in the games he played midfield this year (GCS, Carlton, GWS and Collingwood), he cover a lot of ground and TOG is 85-90% compared to that of Soligo who doesn't have the tank yet so is around 75-80%.

Yeah it's striking, if that's true re Rozee that's absolutely deranged. I saw rozee coming out with some nicks-esque oh we just have to keep trying nonsense as well, grim stuff.
