Ports run home flattered them.

Sydney result aside (which was an anomaly and the sort of freak occurrence that sport throws up every now and then)

Beat Freo who aren’t that good. Missed the 8. Missing their number 1 young forward.

Beat us only after knocking out our best player. And we suck.

Just beat Melbourne who suck just as much as us and all hate each other.

Thrashed Sydney.

Beat Carlton who had bottom 4 form at the end of the season.

Beat Richmond. Everyone beats Richmond. Except us. See point above re sucking.

Lost to Gold Coast.

No games there (apart from Sydney) that would have prepared them for last night and gave them the sort of false confidence that had Dixon commenting that premiership medals should also go to players not picked (playing the long game there dicko) and Kochie flapping about arrogantly on radio.

They had the easiest draw in the competition, enough said.

So when did Butters hurt his ribs? This week or last week

On SM-S901E using BigFooty.com mobile app

He got smashed in a tackle on the wing in the first quarter - members side wing. almost an down field free. I reckon that’s where the issue came from - whether it aggravated an injury from last week or created a new one

Geelongs run home wasn’t much different. Had a super easy run with us, North, West Coast in the last few rounds

Yeah I thought at the time, that 'this is weird'

They weigh heavily into what has happened before them as a predicted outcome for the future.

Problem is that what they think as 'what has happened before them' is the dominance of the Magpies in the SANFL, not what it actually is, which is the last 10 years of finals failures.

Half these people weren’t born when the magpies were dominant in the Sanfl. Haven’t won a flag for 25 years!

Said it before, Geelong needed to play that game on their terms to win and they did it to perfection. Best marking side in the comp and when they have it they hold it better than most with precision kicking. Completely pulled port apart and they had no chance to try and run Geelong around.

You know what Geelong will do..stopping it is another thing

It’s like rain on your wedding day

You just know they'll play a half fit Butters next week

And you know Mitchell at least will have his boys tearing out those ribs on every possible occasion.
To be so sore you can’t play a half of a final that you still in the game - can’t see how he gets up. That would be legit soft that he subbed so early. Even injured - could have played forward and subbed Dixon

Cop a load of the state of football in South Australia.

Two absolute joke clubs who have been conditioned by the AFL to feel like the manufactured rivalry between the two clubs is the only thing that matters - not premierships.

That way, when they both inevitably fail either prior to, or in finals (as we both do year after year) we can look back favourably and say ‘so what if we can’t even come close to matching the $$$ or conditions on offer in the east or west coast - at least we beat our cross town rivals!!!11’

Spare me.

The sooner the two clubs and fan bases move past the finger pointing and laughing at each other, and instead actually band together to say ‘hey AFL you pack of campaigners, we are copping the pineapple sideways in this hideously compromised competition and we are done unless something changes’ the sooner we might actually see some tangible change.

Wont happen though, because, y’know, L0lport! And all that jazz.

You think the hierarchy at Port would consider that - just look what they are doing with the SANFL. They don’t care about anyone else than themselves.

Just consider how they wanted to leave Football Park. We are talking about a stadium in their neck of the woods.

They have a history of screwing anyone over to get what they wanted. They don’t believe in win-win situations.

Hows it a 'manufactured rivalry'....?

The rivalry is extremely real and deep, it has little bearing on finals or premierships.

So many worst ever records over the years..
So they've decided to add another:

Ports last 4 finals is the worst 4 finals run in VFL/AFL history. 0-4 at 51.9% 🤣

Paer's last 4 finals ... 0-4 with a % of 51

That requires AFC level blindness, you know the type that can ignore the actual results that matter under your coach.

Hinkley capitalises on a good fixture and some well placed sneaky wins - but the truth is out there for all to see.

Nicks can't even get his win % against non-bottom-4-teams above 25% - and winning against a decent team in Melbourne when it matters, forget it.

I wouldn't be throwing too much shade when our own club is even more of a joke at the moment.

Oh - and finally, Butters should have been captain - or maybe Houston. Rozee ain't that guy. JHF is a gun.

As good as watching Port capitulate like that is, I am still petty enough that I don't want to see gloating Geelong posters on this board

they can **** off with all the bullshit handout pick#7 horseshit / bellarine coast mumma's boys that artificially keep them perpetually contending
Geelong can absolutely GAGF as well.

Definitely think it's important to remind ourselves about that. :)

Also: Suck it Port!
