Who gives a **** if they were training that's unimportant, they were in breach of government regulations requiring them to self isolate for 14 days.

Stick them all with jail time like the last bloke who was leaving his hotel during isolation.

Sam McClure said the golf course is open to the public, and that it just so happened that hardly anyone was there because it was very windy.
EDIT: He also said that he rang the course to pretend to want to book a tee time, and they said, "no worries. When would you like to come down?"

I think that many on BigFooty don't agree with the current training rules-- but that doesn't allow the Crows players to breach them. How entitled do they think they are to ignore the rules set out by the competition.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

The Adelaide Crows are fighting against evil here, and it is perfectly morally acceptable to ignore laws designed to oppress.

Not the news that the AFL wanted in its bid to restart the season.
Obviously given bad advice and who gave that bad advice is not intelligent at all.
No defence for this and certainly not from AFL house

Haha you idiot, the training was cleared with SAPOL as they’re quarantining in a hotel closed off to the public.

The players are trained monkeys.

The Assistant Coach who was with them should be sacked, unless he wants to name a superior who instructed him. Moron.

Just the beginning of the farcical season that the moneyed suits desperately need more than the fans. As Bunk said above, just call the farce off.

Should the rule really apply to WA and SA clubs if they are going to be forced to travel every week to Victoria? I.e severely disadvantaged??

Should a rule that was originally designed in late March (when the competition was suspended to ensure equity across all 18 clubs) be changed in May due to a perceived #VICBIAS from a few clubs?

Why should 4 clubs get an advantage over the other 14?

The rule wasn’t designed in March, it only popped up a week ago when WA players were talking in the media about being able to train in groups of 10 in their state. AFL players only ever had to adhere with the state guidelines regarding COVID-19, until it didn’t suit a particular state.

Haha you idiot, the training was cleared with SAPOL as they’re quarantining in a hotel closed off to the public.

"As of yesterday, the 16 players have been staying in their own dedicated rooms with a view to completing tailored fitness programs in the large open spaces of the precinct with instruction to not leave its boundaries.

"Given their recent travel movements, the players are required to spend 14-days in isolation due to South Australia’s COVID-19 regulations and no other guests are currently staying at the accommodation facility because it is temporarily closed to the public."

The South Australian health department website states that anyone who is quarantined must either stay home or in their hotel room.

“During the 14 days of isolation you must stay at home (or your hotel room) and not leave unless you need to seek urgent medical care," the website says.

Where in the article does it mention they were cleared by the cops to train? Why are AFL players being given leeway by the police anyway? And lastly there is no golf course on the facility according to google maps.

Am I wrong in saying that all the training facilities were closed back in March??

The AFL didn’t close because they couldn’t train—- the AFL closed because SA closed the border. The suspension of the competition indicated that players couldn’t train until the competition said otherwise.

It was only that when WA lifted restrictions last week that it made media attention.

Either way—- there was still 16 crows players that were breaking not only state social distancing rules, but also their lock down.

Why can’t they just follow the rules?

Not in the article, this is from a journalist in SA who doesn’t post shit for the sake of it like Vic footy media:

They are in a hotel closed to the public, what threat are they posing by training on those grounds? In case you hadn’t noticed, SA has dealt with the virus very well.
