I'd play Hunt at half back. He is a straight lines player. I think keep it simple for him.

When he came back from injury I think he was confused about his role in the team.

Guthrie and Hunt to take the smaller forwards and provide plenty of run off half back. I'd almost be inclined to go with Taylor, Lonergan, Mackie, Enright, Taylor Hunt and Guthrie as the back 6. Mackie as the third tall. Thurlow may have Taylor Hunt's spot if he doesn't shape up quickly.

Poor old Taylor Hunt - fast becoming a forgotten man at the G.F.C. Ever since that injury and subsequent loss of confidence in himself. I really hope he gets his mojo back this pre-season, as I think we all saw glimpses of a bloody good player in there somewhere.

He usually is around this time of the year. I'm sure those on the inside remember him. Fact is, he could fill two very important roles for the team this year and he has some nice tools to work with, but it's his sixth year on the list. Definitely time for him to step up.

Given the fact that this is the case for quite a few boys on the list, do you think we could see quite a large list turn over next year MC if they don't step-up break their way into the senior side?

I think there definitely should be. There's probably 12-15 players whom we're on the fence with at the moment and a lot of them ain't that young anymore. The club has probably been a little generous with a few of them, but I think with most, they're playing for their career with Geelong this year. Whether that means trading for draft picks to fill the vacancies, or looking at a few free agent signings, I think plenty of players have had some opportunities and 2014 is crunch time for them.

For me he just needs to maintain consistent form over the whole season. I don't expect him to get 30 touches a game or kick 3 goals a game as a tagger, but as long as he performs his role he'll be fine.

Yes.

Hi guys, let me know what you think of my 2013 season review of the Cats! It focuses on moves made and players drafted only. Cheers!

I think that I don't like specific game threads being hijacked by visitors in a shameless attempt to get traffic to their website. And I'm not that fussed about amateurs trying to tell me things I already know about my team. But that's just me.

Wouldn't mind seeing us give Jansen a game and let him run with Pendlebury, even if it is only for a quarter. He's about the same size as Pendles, and it would be an awesome learning experience for him to see how one of the greats of the game goes about it.

almost time to turn the sport package back on with foxtel. i assume the preseason is televised on fox footy again? weeknight games will be a great substitute for the big bash each night after work.

Each to their own mate

Another thing I'd like to see. If Maxwell's playing, I'd love to see us march whoever he's on back to the goal square and push everyone else out of the forward 50 and have the peanut one on one with his direct opponent.

I still remember the corresponding practice match last year, and Maxwell went to Pods for 10 minutes at the start of the 2nd quarter, and Pods kicked 2 goals and set up another couple before Maxwell got moved.

I'm so pumped!

There's nothing on the AFL or Cats website. The latter or which states that only Menz, Mots and Selwood will be unavailable. Given that clubs can select 26 players I'd say team releases are purely academic.

True. I couldn't find much info either. Will be interesting to see which 26 will be selected.
I'm just impatient.

PS - Still adjusting to your new avatar manboob, keep thinking it's someone else
