  • 'Colour blindness' doesn't cut it in a settler-colonial country. Of course people who's families survived the stolen generations will take paternalism from white men wrt. their children differently. Paternalistic/demeaning treatment is, in this case, also an example of institutional and structural racism.
  • Blaming Shannon without evidence is misogyny, really can't be equivocated with the moral/political choice to believe victims of structural oppression as a default- a stance which I believe is necessary for meaningful change.

Im voting yes to a voice. We as a community, us all just need to get along. My family migrated here in the 70’s fleeing war (my mother did, father did later) in all seriousness. We respect, try out best to understand and comprehend. But **** me, at what point is it where us foreigners need to feel less guilt of being here and seeking asylum?
