Does that actually make it better though? Main event starting with 5 minutes left absolutely confirms its a work, screwy finish which people hate ending the show.... I don't think that's an improvement over the middle.
That's a fair call. Tony could tweet some bullshit about purchasing extra time or whatever to give the illusion of it going longer but I suppose no matter where they put it people would be happy.

It's what makes it rather fascinating... If he is still hurt and needs more time it makes sense, if it's for the purposes of a new angle... Well, you'd want the payoff to be pretty huge.

So allegedly* Kingston has been serving a small suspension for fighting (or attempting to fight) Guevara backstage. Sammy called him fat and Eddie took a swing haha. Their All Out match has seemingly disappeared from the card.

And allegedly** Rosa and Baker legitimately can’t stand each. and Hayter also hates Rosa. After she broke Hayter’s nose at BotB, Rosa hid from them for fear of getting her ass kicked.

*dirt sheets including Meltzer
*voices of wrestling, whatever that is

Drama in the main event, the mid card and the women’s division!

OK, a lot of questions out of that, legit injury, not ready to come back, or on his way out?
You'd think Khan booked himself into a corner by not stripping him of the title initially and this was the result - they ran out of time for Punk to heal, you can't book interim champ vs. X on a PPV as its a nothing match, and Khan was probably concerned the crowd would shit on him if he booked a squash for the main of a $50 PPV.

A legit injury in the match doesn't explain the rush to have the match when you have your Mania just a week away, nor the placing on the show.
If he was leaving the company, why would you squash him but provide the injury out? You'd just squash him.

Bit of s**t going down it sounds like. Talent meeting before Dynamite and warning letter sent to WWE about tampering.

Isn't tampering a pro sports thing? Doesn't apply at all to pro wrestling? Seems an odd thing to take legal action over.

Right to be annoyed, but seeing as talent have contracts, don't see the problem?

Interesting few weeks coming up. I kind hope MJF and Punk aren't 100% works because they've been more odd than intriguing IMO.

All Out will obviously show where a lot of things are at.

I don’t mind a big match going short if used sparingly, and especially if it’s a tv match people haven’t paid for. It adds a more realistic element to the show. I thought the first? Goldberg/Brock match was a good example of it.

The problem with today is so far I don’t think it was built to or executed well for that type of finish. Still happy to see how it plays out and give it a chance though. At least Mox came away looking super out of it.

This one at least is legit: Kingston went on the record to PWInsider about it.

I’m glad I watched that episode and haven’t read any news, which seems to be overshadowing it.

That Dynamite was incredible. MCMG announcement was huge, father vs son should actually be a really big deal when you think about it, the title match was intriguing - I love that wrestling can still convince people that this was anything other than a work, the way it was put over so hard suggests the whole last 2 weeks has been a work, right?

And that main event slapped ****ing hard. I love that we’re watching Aussie Open become stars in front of us. They’re big, athletic, they look great. I can see Triple H watching that wondering why they aren’t working for WWE.

It excites me to think that we might be on the fringes of an Australian wrestling revival, ala BritWres 8ish years ago. I think this was happening before the pandemic, but there’s so much momentum now. It’s crazy to me that I saw Aussie Open at Death Match Down Under in Carlton a year ago. Buddy Matthews is main eventing Friday - I saw him literally a month ago, 2km from my house.

The Velocities - who were deservedly put on the map by the PWA series with Aussie Open during the pandemic, and who’ve since toured that match in Europe ala NWA in the 70s-80s - are teasing something big, which I suspect could be United Empire. (Jude LONDON & PARIS de Silva? Tell me it doesn’t make too much sense!)

I think Toni is the right person to win the interim title, I think that’s the most interesting match when Rosa is back.

I can see myself losing my mind for The Elite vs United Empire. God I’m stoked for Aussie Open.

It should've kicked off the show, you sell it as having the full 1-hour time limit available and that these 2 cannot wait to get at each other and settle it. Then it's an even bigger surprise when it's a 5-minute squash. Coming at the halfway mark, you could tell something was off, it's obvious the match isn't going to go 1 hour when you've still got the trios match to come.
too risky to kill the crowd early perhaps?

Unfortunately I read spoilers before I watched. Dumb arse thing to do really.. Such is life.

I was a bit gobsmacked at the Punk/Mox match seems real baffling, in general, where it was on the card, the length, the squash ect. He still must not be 100%.

enjoyed the opening. Going to be real interesting with Garcia. DAX vs Lethal was solid, lethal is very underrated, does the small things that makes you invested.

It was a great promo from Ricky starks, especially the line about saving Hobbs from security.

Great story telling in Billy Gunn vs Colten Gunn. Loved how Billy gave a fan the ”Scissors” halfway through the match.

I couldn’t get into the womens match.

onto the main event, obviously match of the night. The opening minute with Osprey and Penta(?)each countering each other was nothing short of spectacular. Seth Rollins may have the bigger bank account, Osprey has the bigger range of talent though. The showdown between Osprey and PAC, was built beautifully. The red herring from Sabin was intelligent and just added to the match, rather than distract from it.

I really dislike this part time Brock Lesnar + MMA influence of interim champs.

Just say you can’t defend it within 30 days so you have to relinquish it.

Has anyone ever noticed how many Fite credits you get when you drop the $31 on their ppvs?

Nobody mentioning the major takeaway from today's show. It was one of the best Dynamites in a long time!

I'm a huge Punk mark and I was in complete shock at what happened. My wife was in the room for that match and asked me if 'that was all meant to happen' and I didn't know what to say.

you get 4 credits

So it works out that you get roughly every 3rd ppv for free if u have AEW+, you buy every ppv, and you don’t buy anything else?

(That’s what messed up my sums - gaining and spending credits on MCW & PWA.)

So obviously no MJF seems a wtf atm but I can imagine his return will be awesome however they do it. The lack of Hangman is weird and the story with Dark Order ignoring Rampage results surely is resulting in something happening. Would seem weird for him to be out of the picture for weeks just to be their coach.

it's 20 Fite credits for an AEW PPV, if that helps your sums

Who’s reporting all the news about contracts and the in house fighting? If true it’s a bit of a shit show but surely that happens everywhere when you have a ton of egos who want to be booked in the highest spots anywhere no different to over the other side of the fence either?

Hated the interim stuff from the start just vacate it and crown a new champion, the interim vs original champ is lame story as is and honestly they have just completely blown their best asset they had in terms of viewership or eyes whatever you wanna say but Punk was it for drawcard factor.

It was always going to be interesting to see how his body held up so not surprised if it’s a long lay off with injury but I don’t think he needs the belt anyway he had a good run pre having the belt and now just ends up in a shambles of a title run.

Mox isn’t the drawcard guy , he’s bog average inside the ring these days very limited. If they were going to squash Punk like that it would have been way better off if it was Wardlow or MJF would have instantly made them or even Omega doing it would have given his name a buzz to those that don’t regularly follow AEW but clearly know the reputation Punk has in the ring.

Will Ospreay is so bloody good. Stoked to see the MCMG in AEW as well, one of the great tag teams in Impact history.

Liked the opening seg with Daniel Garcia/Jericho/Danielson as well. Crowd is right behind Garcia.

The Casino Battle Royal announcement for All Out was potentially significant…
