It's posturing from a side desperate to spark a bidding war.

The reality is that all out of contract players go for unders because the alternative is nothing, especially a player where all the evidence points to him not staying in Geelong no matter what happens. If Tim Kelly also keeps insisting on only West Coast, makes it even harder for Geelong to maintain that position.

We have nothing worth sacrificing to move up into the top 10 and involving more parties just makes things exponentially more complicated. I am confident it will be a straight swap of picks and I am confident it won't be the kitchen sink plus Brander or something like that.
I think you're underestimating how much of a bunch of campaigners Geelong are but I guess we'll see how it plays out.

This - and then the worst that happens is you sign some top talent. But if the bluff is called, and Kelly walks to the draft, there’s the potential of taking a top 10 pick and Kelly. That’d p**s off so many people and would be absolutely delicious

Exactly they are in no position to demand anything, take what they are given or get nothing. I rest easy knowing that West Coast are a very well run business, and will make a good business decision.
1 hour left in the draft and the Cats haven't taken the deal and WC aren't budging, Cats can either take our offer or get nothing, we are win win either way, they potentially lose their 2nd best player for nothing.
I am actually looking forward to this unfold, just for the Scott faces.

I guess the question we have to ask is if it was Yeo or Shuey under the same circumstances what would we be asking?
Weve been there - with the best player in the comp

I guess we should go read those threads and see if we were as big a pair of gaping fanny flaps as the GeeBong board are being!!

If Geelong want to keep Tim so badly, why don't they just relocate the club to Perth?

Not only will Tim be closer to family, the other players won't have to live in a such a hellhole.

Geelong is a hole. If youve been there seriously, you would understand why.

Its little wonder interstate sides struggle when they arrive there, they think they are in some remote outback third world country.

Yep. Ally Cats is the epitome of Geelong. You go in thinking 'it can't be too bad - it's a strip club, there'll be attractive girls'. Then you remember you're in Geelong and every stripper is aged and 15kg too heavy to be dancing but they're doing it anyway.

Everything seems so dead in Geelong except for those overweight strippers. Never again.

Imagine if we had taken Kelly at 21, Oscar Allen was in play at 26 and then we took Ryan at 32 over f*cking Brayden.

I know you can't look at it that way, but I reckon Ryan would have been available at 32 and Allen had already slid so who knows.

- Brander
- Kelly
- Allen
- Ryan

From 13, 21, 26 & 32.

We still made out like bandits, but that would have been one of the greatest drafting years relative to picks in hand in any club's history.... with the added bonus of not having to deal with these Bags.

My best Geelong experience involves my mate taking someone home and catching herpes. Great town.

And they could play finals at their actual home ground!

Since he’s in Perth, he probably saved himself $6 by making it himself rather than buying one.

That’ll be a bit of a culture shock, the cost of living will be a bit different from Sleepy Hollow.

I once stood behind Gaz in a coffee shop line following last year’s flag. He paid, in the words of Vozzo, a hefty price for his coffee.

Point of that story is that Victorian coffee doesn’t strike me as cheap, and I once stood near Gaz.
