People who vote for the LNP think people who vote for the Greens are stupid because they think that Greens policies would make everyone economically worse off. This is universal in Queensland and regional Australia.Makes no sense at all
Well put.People who vote for the LNP think people who vote for the Greens are stupid because they think that Greens policies would make everyone economically worse off. This is universal in Queensland and regional Australia.
Well-educated people who vote for the Greens/LNP/ALP in metro areas think that low-income people who vote for the LNP are stupid because they're voting for policies which make them economically worse-off. This is universal in central Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Inner-city voters don't get upset that poorly educated regional Queenslanders think they're stupid. The Greens (being the extreme) don't get upset that Queensland LNP people call their policies stupid.
Poorly educated regional Queenslanders get very upset if you call their support of the LNP stupid.
Calling people stupid isn't a way to change people's minds though.People who vote for the LNP think people who vote for the Greens are stupid because they think that Greens policies would make everyone economically worse off. This is universal in Queensland and regional Australia.

No, I agree, it isn't. The US is a prime example. It's Australia's divide on steroids.Calling people stupid isn't a way to change people's minds though.
You don't even have to look at the US. Only look at the voice referendum. People voting no was dismissed as "They're just ignorant racists" There was no deep dive into why people voted no. Sure racism was a factor but it's went more than that. No, I agree, it isn't. The US is a prime example. It's Australia's divide on steroids.
You have to take the time and be patient at explaining it.
All anyone can do is cast their own vote correctly
This isn't an argument against being able to vote the majors out either
More people are waking up, their primary votes are going backwards fast
The only thing that will get them to change course at all is the threat of losing the duopoly
I think we'd be better with proportional representation
If it were proportional to the population in UK constituencies it'd be up around 250 members.I'd like to see that change in the HoR. Along with an increase in the amount of members in the lower house. We are long over due for an increase.
Reinforce that kids shouldn’t start school two years behind their peers because their parents don't work, and stop referring to it as childcare, always call it Early Childhood Education. They have to change the way people perceive this.If Albanese is promising free childcare for people who don't work, this spend is going to blow up in his face.
There's nothing working people hate more than paying for free childcare for lazy stay-at-home parents who cannot be bothered looking after their kids which is how the LNP will paint it.

Actually there’s been a shitload of nuanced analysis from the left about the referendum. You just have to look. You don't even have to look at the US. Only look at the voice referendum. People voting no was dismissed as "They're just ignorant racists" There was no deep dive into why people voted no. Sure racism was a factor but it's went more than that.
For some reason that side of the political spectrum never learns. They always take the easy way out and just throw out names.
Albo doesn't give two shits about the housing crisis. Keeps pumping in astronomical numbers of migrants knowing it can only worsen the housing shortfall. Turbo charging inflation, rents, house prices, congestion, hospital wait times, you name it.while I'd like to see a cratering housing price, I can't see it happening as there would be a lot who own houses with no mortgage and have no reason to sell, and have funds to buy more property and rent at high rates.
Project 2025 Oz style. There are so many more factors in the housing crisis than just migration.Albo doesn't give two shits about the housing crisis. And mass migration exacerbates all of them.Project 2025 Oz style. There are so many more factors in the housing crisis than just migration.
In fairness, the ALP are at least trying to do something (albeit a drop in the ocean of what is required) to address the under-supply of property. While I don't think the government owning part of people's homes is a particularly clever idea, they're having a go.Albo doesn't give two shits about the housing crisis. Stay at home mothers is the liberals wet dream
‘Entire housing crisis is all labor’s doing’ is a liberal talking point
Anyone with half a brain knows that’s tosh
Creating the conditions where this is happening and an unwillingness to do anything about it has a lot more to do with the problem than migration. You don't reckon importing a million warm bodies in 2 years has anything to do with the housing crisis?
Yes or no?
They’re blocking it for many more reason than that. The Greens, who have stated many times that there is a need for more homes, are blocking this bill because they want action on rent caps... Which will do exactly zero to address the issues with housing supply.

Labor’s policy is mammaries-on-a-male-bovine levels of uselessness. Don’t give them a free pass for merely looking like they care.
