Are we a first tier side and is Geelong a second tier side?

No, Geelong is still better, I heard Duck Selwood say we pinched a game off them.

And did we actually win the Grand Final?
I hear the Freo fans put too much pressure on us!

We can agree to disagree but looking at our 2010/11 season and comparing it to the Cats...

2010/11 Hawthorn
31.5 wins from 47 games (67%)
1 EF loss to Fremantle followed by a 3pt PF loss to Collingwood

2012/13 Geelong
33 wins from 47 games (70%)
1 EF loss to Fremantle followed by a 5pt PF loss to Hawthorn

In fact if you look at the PF losses incurred by both the 2011 Hawthorn and 2013 Geelong sides they are extremely similar

The last few years we would have cracked or panicked or try to win the game from one piece of brilliance. This year we stood up, when challenged we dug in. The loss last year gave the lads some scar tissue, that will turn out to be a good thing. This group is now hard.

This team is different to 2012 and 2011. As Sammy said yesterday it is about TEAM. It is has taken a while be we are now first tier.

Both Hawthorn & Geelong are 1st rate teams - the San Francisco Dockers are 2nd rate...

The GF was held Friday night 20th September & anyone with half a brain knows it - and knows who won.

Sorry, this idea sounds a bit arrogant to me. If they're behind us, it isn't too far. In a way it's a pity they lost to Freo - their bogey side - because a Hawthorn/ Geelong grand final would have been a cracker! And I think we would have won, too.

I agree. Geelong lost to their bogey side. If we'd met Richmond, we probably would have lost, too.
