When you effectively play one down all day it is a major reason. Massie on Franklin was a bad move, but even then we still should have won.

There are 2 key factors that bug me most. Im willing ti give Francou time, based on reputation. Hart was such a ridiculous appointment, again based on reputation but we have more pressing concerns.

1 - We look unfit as ****, it's terrible. We can't even outrun a young freo side on a big ground. Hass HAS to go, plain and simple. The current state of our injury list and player condition is a joke of the competition.

If this was Polous in this scenario, given what he'd done for multiple years, you'd be willing to put this down to luck, and maybe an error of judgement in the pre-season.

But Haas, and Burton came from an absolute shit show over at Brisbane, and yet we feel their services are required, and this is what they deliver. An other industry and they'd be fired right here and now.

2 - We still have the same midfield issues we've had for years and years. We cannot defend a well organised and performing midfield. Once a blue moon we pull a game out of our ass, where everyone seems up for it, but it's not because we are executing everything to plan. sometimes we just want the ball more.

The fact that I see such fluid, organised and 2-way operating midfields in the SANFL, and yet we run around completely devoid of any structure or urgency when we don't have the ball in our hands is a complete joke.

I don't understand why we've allowed this to go for as long as it has.

It's hard to judge our coaches, given the massive injury toll.

Agree Hass must go & should be immediately, as we need to get everyone right for round 1 next year & that starts now.

I would also prefer Francou looking after the midfield. Perhaps moving Clarke to the womens team, he can do it with Campo as doubt they will move him on or Campo takes the forwards? Hart gives me no confidence & we should be trying to pry an assistant from a successful club or someone like Richardson if he is sacked from the Saints. I feel we have lost our best assistant support Teague & we need to find another high quality assistant to give Don ideas or someone to bounce ideas off.

What do people think of Marty Mattner as a potential assistant? Is an ex player but doesn't have the feel of an old boy about him. Was an assistant at a very successful Sydney before taking Sturt to back to back premierships in the SANFL.

Would love him if he was allowed to have a voice. Has completely turned the culture of our club around.

Would be worth considering as a defensive coach.

I like that he has been in a different successful system & coached in his own right.

It is extremely hard to judge and work out who we can attribute what too.

But surely Hass if the first and easiest decision to make, considering his record at Brisbane and now here.

The appointment, while he had a terrible record also, is probably hard to judge (as much as it pains me to say that) given the state of the teams fitness levels and their inability to help the defence out.

Another season on however, and I see no ability in our midfield to tighten up and stop the bleeding. Again, our defensive structures suck and I've seen better operating SANFL midfield units, who are in the right spots at the right time to both receive the ball and attack, but also completely stop opposition ball movement. Seeing Mattner's Sturt midfield completely outclass a reasonable Crows SANFL side last year sticks out in my mind like a sore thumb and further makes me ask why we seem incapable of seeing talented individuals like this right under our noses.

There's a difference between hiring an ex-player who has had success and hiring one just because he's an ex-player. What success had Ben Hart or Brett Burton had that made them attractive hires? That's the difference between guys like Mattner and Bassett and Ben Hart.

If they really MUST keep Campo then send him to coach the SANFL side. ROK as the forward coach, Francou as the mids.

Exactly. Having the best skills & experience for the job is the key aspect, rather than personal connections with club which should be just a bonus... rather than the other way around.

Our midfield and forward zones have been hardest hit with injuries

With that said Smith has been a massive loss however Hartbhas had all pre-season to plan for this, there is no doubt in my mind that replacing JPod with Hart has had an impact, the back 6-7 are not playing as a unit like the previous 2 years
