This could be a extremely good series or a one sided beat down..

India aren't in the best form at the moment so it'll be interesting...

Hoping its a close series with India winning some games, I see Australia domination myself.

Hard to say atm, if a opener kills it in the shield they probably get the nod if not Head will probably get a crack at it.

If green dog was fit yes I could've seen head open...but now

Still think its going to be a bat off.....

Konstas the media favourite ....everyone loves a young en rise to riches story

Bangers....in terrible form atm...at the worst possible time...sad really

Harris....the master of Junction oval....not so anywhere else

Renshaw....does he know one end of the bat from the other....should try batting right handed

Interesting times ahead

India is pretty settled imo. There's the KL v Sarfaraz debate & whether Shami is fit. They've also dominated this series in Aus. Plenty of pressure on Aus to win, especially since it's likely the last home series v India for guys like Starc & Smith. Lyon has already talked up India's record over here.

Marnus last 2 test years have been pretty poor. That's another issue if he doesn't get off to a flyer. Surely Aus rotate their seamers, Boland has to be a strong chance for boxing day test. India's plan last few times were to tire the Aus bowlers through batting for long periods. It'll be difficult to achieve without Pujara but something they'll know works.

tbh strong chance it could backfire but considering Harris, Bancroft and Renshaw are all tried and failed I wouldn’t be against throwing the 19 year old in there, hopefully he can score some more runs before selection day.

He wasn't helped by a dreadful LBW against him in the shield game....

Didn’t see it but saw a hell of a lot of blow ups about it on social media along the lines of ‘not hitting a second set’ so must have been a pretty borderline decision at best

Bolland does get alot of bounce and it was angling toward leg but I don't think it was a out and out shocker.

Ill throw Maxwell in as a smokie

If we going to go with plodders in Bancroft or Harris were going to be 1 for nothing anyway.

Maxi might come off twice in a 10 innings series and might be the difference.

Does he play any different to Rohit Sharma or Ben Duckett.

That would be a hell of a smokie... Maxwell is playing 2nd XI for Victoria at the moment :)

Well i dont know who to actually go with atm.

Maxwell at least is proven he can perform at International level even if it only comes off once every 5/6 innings. We have never given him a test on home soil.

Konstas is 12 months away i want to see him play a full shield season and get the ebbs and flows of First class cricket.

Harris/Bancroft have failed multiple times.

Renshaw doesnt cut it anymore.

Can you imagine if Maxwell opens and lasts 10 overs.

Is it any worse then Bancroft/Harris prodding and plodding for 10 overs for next to nothing.

I would honestly just put him in there, all the old veterans in the mix suck and all in crap form.

South Africa done it with Graeme Smith back in the day and it come off, Smith was 20 odd off the back of not much and he was captain by 23 or so.

That English summer of 2003 he was amazing, it was like Steve Waugh in the 89 Ashes, they just couldn't get him out.
