Marnus to open isn't a bad shout. He's been poor at no.3 in the last few years. Marsh/head/smith don't want to open.

Maybe bring back David Warner?

Hate this robbing Peter to pay Paul idea. He’s our best 3 averages 50 there

Still wouldn't discount Marnus goes up to open.....and an option comes into the middle order......Mcsweeney Inglis to name a few

would've been interesting who they had pencilled in to open if green was fit.

i have no idea which way the selectors will go - just whoever gets the nod, i hope they suceed.

the revolving door of opening pairs continue - it may be a few years until the stars align and we have a gun opening pair with their careers at the same stage eg. taylor/slater hayden/langer etc.

will be interesting whenever green comes back in and for who? could it align with khawaja's retirement - discussion for another time i guess. in any case the make up of the side for the sri lanka tour will be interesting.

He averaged 70 odd his first 60% of innings at 3 and about 30-35 there after.

Still easily our best 3 without Green there

Smith would be a zillion times worse he wasn’t anywhere near as good at 3 as he was at 4 at his peak.

Keepers putting everyone to shame at the moment. How many can we fit in?

They won't do it, but injecting the side with serious youth like Konstas wouldn't be the worst thing.

If they can field have no issue with playing a second one it’s my only concern not every keeper is Baz McCullum as a specialist fielder

Nearly a year since he retired and still Australian cricket is really no closer to deciding who is a genuinely good prospect to take his place as opener.

Indictment on the system.

Plus when you consider the other opener is about to turn 38, could easily be his last summer

Smith too let’s be real if he lasts a summer I’ll be surprised Marsh hardly young either and injury prone

Bolland does get alot of bounce and it was angling toward leg but I don't think it was an out and out shocker.
Agreed, watched a replay and thought it was close, perhaps would’ve been overturned with ball tracking, but not a shocker. Thought the Harri’s decision was worse, albeit still not a shocker - god he’s frustrating to watch.

Im worried about smudge Luke....he looks shocking....keeps playing soccer and get hits on the pads all the time

Looks so cooked with his technique we all said it the cliff would come quicker relies almost 100% on eyesight

Umm no

Still reckon young Konstas is in the frame if they go an opener..tough 40 odd today...selectors like hard runs

bangers wasn't picked when he was in form can't see him picked out of it ..he looks nervous reckon he is done...which is a shame..needs runs fast

Harris is probably the conservative pick and most likely they will go that way which is boring

But I wouldn't mind a left field decision and pick a middle order player in mcsweeney or Inglis in the middle order...both are batting nicely atm... and put marnus up the top
