Average of 39 in FC cricket. That's more than Dhoni, same as Prior and very good for FC cricket.Wade's batting is significantly overrated. Not nearly good enough to make up for his keeping.

You are hilarious - He is a tough cricketer and a competitor, he won't take a backward step. He has a competitive nature that is valued in team sport. if you have played sport, you would recognize this.Apparently to be a good cricketer you have to be able to fight in an innings. Unfortunately for the Vics, they don't realise that you need to be able to hit the ball and catch it as a keeper.
Take a look at his last 10 test digs- very consistentWade and Haddin have the same average. Wade has 2 hundreds from 12 tests and Haddin 4 from 50-odd. Haddin is far more consistent and has dug us out of plenty holes too. I'd wager Haddin has Wade covered on Shield records too. The_Reaper might be able to help us out there.

It is good in FC. 34 at Test level is not enough to cover his shortcomings though.Average of 39 in FC cricket. That's more than Dhoni, same as Prior and very good for FC cricket.
Ooh what a surprise the Wade bashers are in full force tonight![]()
Can someone who understands all the symbolism and tokenism of the Phil Hughes Grief process explain to me if Haddins duck was for Phil as much as Warners century?
I'm just not sure who is doing what for whom today.
So is it out of Hartley and Whiteman to replace Haddin? Whiteman is obviously the long term replacement. I really hope they pick Whiteman, have followed him since he came into the Warriors team in late 2012. He is a star and it would be great for him to get into the test team.
He is a very average poster. What exactly is your problem with all this Phil Hughes stuff?
Give it a rest.
What is also highly valued is actually having talent and ability to play the game at the top level. While Wade may have the toughness, he certainly doesn't have the ability. You are hilarious - He is a tough cricketer and a competitor, he won't take a backward step. His keeping flaws are overblown imo, after all it's not like Haddin was ever great with gloves either .If people want to debate Wade's selection in the team then it's open for debate right?
He's certainly not the worst wicketkeeper I've seen in International cricket. He wasn't spectacular, but he held his own. What is also highly valued is actually having talent and ability to play the game at the top level. While Wade may have the toughness, he certainly doesn't have the ability.

Lets say Haddin breaks down tomorrow, who do you think the selectors will pick to replace him? I'm confident I know who they'll pick.

Guess again sunshine...
And your choice is?

The same selectors picked Maxwell to bat at 3. "Because the selectors said" is not a good reason. His keeping flaws are overblown imo, after all it's not like Haddin was ever great with gloves either .

Well it seems pretty clear that whoever made the decision to play Clarke made a serious error of judgment. We now are left one bat short with Brad Haddin captaining the side.
All those who think Clarke "had" to play because it was the first test since Phil died, he could have played the same role as non-playing captain. The "occasion" was put before the best interests of the team.
India will be a tough cookie to crack on this pitch, even more so playing ten on eleven.
