How s**t are *. We won 2 quarters
Probably why none of their supporters have dropped in getting lippy like they usually do.

They've been the worst performing side so far this year when playing a team that isn't even VFL standard.

Much better. Should have been closer but for errors. So my expectations were raised and now I’m disappointed again.
At least there was Effort today. We never gave up. It was poor skills by some very obvious recidivists that untimely opened the door to *.
It is becoming clearer by the week those players that will run out of chances.

Tucker does nothing with the ball that helps us. High floating kicks, no damage, no penetration.
Scott does a lot right but is an absolute ball butcher way to regularly. For mine he is the kind of player who will either get relegated to a role player only or will be found out when we have better disposal in general.
I'd drop one of these two and play Stephenson higher up the field.

Solid effort in a lot of ways but gave up 5 in a row and that was that in the 3rd.
Dawson had a solid enough debut, tough game obviously but he didn't really drop his head and showed enough to make it obvious why they gave him a debut.
Wardlaw a cracking game overall.
Stringer still a flog, fronts up to Comben trying to look tough then spends the next 2 mins flopping for free kicks.
Not sure what Ford needs to do more of from a team POV but his clean and creative kicking is noticeable. Imagine he had the tank to play on the wing full time instead of Scott / Tucker, would be a weapon. Hope he can get there.

Bergman going down really hurt as his clean and cutting disposal was noticeable and meant that Sheezel could play upfield more. Backline can't take a trick at the moment.

Edit: BTW forgot Zurhaar who is fast playing himself into replaceable. Just doesn't do enough, especially enough smart stuff and doesn't work hard enough on his opponents, just let's them free as an out off the back of a contest. He isn't good enough to be that cavalier and needs to find some hunger.

Corr's best game this year. Completely destroyed Langford.
He was huge

Lmac stood up too

Both been good last few weeks

It’s nice that our senior defenders are actually playing decent now

Fish was good with rebound and lacing players with his skill

LDU and Sheezel are stars

An improvement on most of the season. All we can ask for
happy to give dawson a few more opportunities, whilst wright got the better of him it improved structures, let Corr isolate langford, looked 100 times more organised than biggy did, now we just need his kallum and louge back and we have the nucleus of a backline,

fwd line is still a worry, we really need a key fwd down there to bring the ball to ground, going forward theres possibly not room for both larkey and zurhaar if dursma keeps coming on,

Enjoyed the games of George, Sheez, Corr, TP, LDU, Chom and Txerri. Not much else to get excited about.
I thought Chom was caught behind quite a few times in the first half allowing easy marks in front. Unless u am confused and it was Dawson

Yeah Choms second half def better than his first

First half was fantastic but even then it was our senior players letting us down - Scott, Tucker, Zurhaar, Larkey.

You can see how good a Sheez, Wardlaw, Powell, LDU midfield can be. Xerri was an animal too.

So disappointed with the senior players mentioned above. Zurhaar’s efforts were putrid and he should be dropped.

Outside of a 15-minute period in the third quarter I thought we were pretty competitive today, we battled really hard to stifle their run and interrupt their forward forays and for the most part was successful, but once again turnover killed us. There will be a number of idiots on here who are going to focus solely on Scott (who didn't have a great day) but the fact is Wardlaw, Comben, Fisher, Sheezel, LDU and a couple of others all turned the ball over which led to points for the Bombers. Until we clean up our skills and decision making, we will continue to contribute greatly to our opponents scores.

Too many players screwing up the fundamentals under zero pressure, especially Scott, Tucker, and Zurhaar. I'm starting to warm to the idea of Zurhaar leaving at the end of the year. Selfish player with negative football IQ.

We desperately need another KPF to help Larkey out. Hopefully we can fill that need in the off season.

It's ridiculous to think that Wardlaw is still a work in progress with what he's already capable of at the level. I can't wait to see what he's capable of in a few years.

Paul Curtis is coming along well as a small forward I think but don't like his odd kicking for goal action. On the right hand side of goal and instead of kicking straight goes for a banana that would make sense if he was opposite side of the goal but just seems to increase difficulty of the shot. Two gettable goals two behinds

Incredibly underwhelming is Cam

I missed the third quarter . (Luckily) but the quarters I did see-

Xerri flogged his master
The kids are so creative and reliable with their disposal- wardlaw, sheez, Powell.
I thought Stephenson was only on presenting on Half forward line and it helped . His passes infield were near perfect.
Taylor has his limitations but always is pressuring the kicker and doing the 1%s. Helps he can take a mark down the line.
Credit where credits due, the leaders asked for more of themselves and corr and McDonald have lifted.
Now our wing problem. Tucker, Scott they may run all day and always present but you just can’t have their poor kicking ability in this day and age. Definitely can’t have both play So who are the best replacements? They are sapping the soul from all the efforts.
Z has always been hit or miss but he’s not even getting lukewarm these days. Has awful decision making.

I actually think we are playing better then a few other teams at min, but it’s just these few seniors are really stiffling the clubs chances.

Positives:
  • Effort at the contest in the first half, we really got on top around the ball. LDU, Powell, Sheezel and Wardlaw all good
  • Comben and Corr in particular really solid down back
  • Stephenson continues to show he may be turning the corner. Fisher also in a nice patch of form
  • Fought it out well in the last quarter

Negatives:
  • Incapable of stopping opposition run on. Seems to happen every week
  • Forward line still seems dysfunctional, Larkey and Zurhaar keep finding ways of stuffing up momentum
  • Ball use and composure horrible from Scott and Tucker. 5 goals alone from their turnovers
  • Dawson will be better for the run but should have been protected better. Would have been better to have him on Guelfi and Comben to take Wright

Xerri gave Goldy an absolute bath.
Scott's worst game for the club.
Reckon Tucker's turnovers throughout the game hurt us more than Scott's and occurred when under minimal pressure. Looked like he had an * jumper on at times. Scott probably pips him for sheer volume.
Corr fantastic.
LDU was much better this week, but his follow up efforts are still not fantastic.
Sheezel was Sheezel.
Fisher good, and will be a weapon when the team is better, took on some of the kicks McKercher would try.
Powell, enormous, if I had to pick one of Powell or Phillips to make it a year or two back, TP wasn't the one I'd pick. Has been huge this year.
Chom very good again.
McDonald better, overcommitted to help younger players a few times leaving his man free, but did some nice things.
Pink, definitely persist forward at this time.
Sleevo, stringing together some good games, tail is up.
Wardlaw, his radar is insane. Reckon he keeps the hair long to hide cameras in the back of his head.

Reckon we will keep Zurhaar, is playing himself out of a decent contract somewhere else.

Can't take a ****ing trick with injuries to backmen.

Old sea pirates are more dual footed than Curtis. It's pointless expecting him to use his other foot - it will never happen. Just need to train the weapons he has - which are plenty - and live with it.
