Just something that looks to have been missed by everyone in here, that 15 minutes where * basically won the game was the same time frame that Xerri hurt his ribs & was either off the ground or clearly hampered by it.

Paul Curtis is coming along well as a small forward I think but don't like his odd kicking for goal action. On the right hand side of goal and instead of kicking straight goes for a banana that would make sense if he was opposite side of the goal but just seems to increase difficulty of the shot. Two gettable goals two behinds

He only has confidence in kicking with his left. He needs to practice at training to consistantly kick with his right to become a better footballer.

The onballers were the most cohesive they've been all season - 42-28 clearance win, they worked hard for each other. Having Sheezel up the ground with his smarts and delivering into forward 50 has to be the future.

We made far fewer howlers in the first quarter than normal - looked like an organised, professional side.

However, from 10 minutes into 3rd any forward pressure we had just completely evaporated. The forwards are a real problem without the ball - they're not fit enough to defend high. They also don't get separation from their opponents nearly enough.

Then there's Tucker - the more he gets it, the worse it is for us. Him having 23 possessions is a nightmare - 7 turnovers. He has no awareness of what's around him, takes an eternity to get rid of the ball and is an atrocious kick. His faults are unfixable - it is an absolute disgrace that our recruiters targeted him.

I'm a fan of Scott but his decision making and disposal was poor today.

If you were told we kept Merrett, Martin, Durham, Langford, way below their recent par, and Goldy was totally neutralised, you would kind of expect a close result, if not a win. But yet again, we shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and lack of tackle pressure, allowing so much easy transition for them compared to us, frustrating, but the sooner we get the players not part of the future out of the way the better, and they are putting their hands up consistently.

Every handball hit a target also DE doesn’t mean you have to hit a target. Its only direct turnover or OOF that impacts your “efficiency”

That's the stat on the AFL website. You can have an effective disposal that's a turnover - f it goes over a certain distance to a contest and the opposition win it.

Everyone made mistakes. No-one made as many as Scott and Tucker. And theirs mistakes were done under minimal pressure. They are supposed to be our senior guys and need to be called out to do better. Or dropped.

Corr did have a go at Bailey when he missed a mark in the last quarter. I don't really understand why Bailey has gone so far backwards.

Not normally one to chime in because despite watching every game, I’ve become a bit catatonic to the losses. Despite that I was very up and about today, I think this is the most heart the lads have played with all year and I was very invested.

Pros:
Xerri was outstanding today, I haven’t been a critic but I definitely facepalm when he grabs it out of the ruck. Our mids were much better on clearance today and that’s a reflection of Xerri.

Sheezel was far better in the midfield, it’s insane how quickly he can adapt and inject his poise wherever he’s played.

Wardlaw is a beast, would jump in front of a train to win the ball for us and with another year my money would be on him rather than the train. Quickly becoming my favourite (and I hecking love Harry)

LDU’s best game for the year, a direct result of improvement from Xerri’s tapwork, Sheez silk and Wardlaw ferocity. Get ourselves a big body to rotate in there and our engine room becomes a ******* SpaceX rocket.

Backline struggled but was the strongest I’ve seen it all year. Corrs best game of the year, McDonald was somewhat serviceable. Chom must be persisted with in defence. He’s only been in there a handful of games and looks better than McKay who was poached for 800k+

Cons:
Bailey Scott is being played out of position but that does not excuse the turnovers, if he’s really so limited that being played out of position has effected his disposal so badly he needs time in the reserves to build confidence in the new position. Cost us numerous goals and a world of momentum.

Tucker tried but he just doesn’t have what’s required.

Curtis, needs more awareness of his surroundings. If he moved laterally and snapped instead of charging towards goal, would have been 2-3 additional goals.

After today I think I finally understand the plan Clarko is trying to implement and there is no point changing course because when we have the cattle to pull it off, we will be unstoppable.

Missing a simple target and it going to a different player from our team would count as effective? Or having a simple 30 metre pass to open player under no pressure and not hitting him on the chest would also count as effective if bounced 10 metres in front and he got it on the bounce.

Can’t just use DE. It definitely doesn’t paint the whole picture.

in his first game. For his age / experience I thought it was very good.

Xerri killed Goldy. Talk about playing washed up players Brad Scott style.

Midfield looked good. LDU, Sheez and Powell I liked.

I thought the defence was good, nice balance. Chom is a warrior, Corr gets harshly treated here, he was good. Fisher is doing well under pretty extreme duress. LMac was the same shit, he tries hard.
