Not our day. Smashed inside, fumbly and poorly skilled when we did get a bit of run going. Brown had a shocker but was double teamed all day, Wood was putrid. LMac shit. Ziebell underwhelming, Dumont likewise. Durdin some ok things, some pretty terrible things.
Thought the defence did ok considering. One of JMac/Atley has to go - I'd drop both.

Turner was great, thought EVW was pretty solid, Tarrant did ok on Buddy, Cunnington and Higgins kept having a crack. Not the end of the world, I didn't expect to win this week. We need Garner back ASAP.

Didn't go and instead went to my local (boundary hotel, Bentleigh for those playing at home).
Their mids worked harder than our mids. Ball use inside 50 was rank. Goldstein towled up Tic Tac head and Naismith but for nothing.
Usually not in the business of singling blokes out but McMillan isn't a afl footballer at the moment. Ben10, jack, frog all quiet games.

Still think we will beat the dees next week

Go Roos

Turner only bloke that was consistently willing to put in the hard yards. Higgo, Taz and Cunners were round the mark. Rest were absolutely shit house. Never seen so many players put in such a weak effort.

Took Ziebell a half to realise someone had to go near Kennedy, leader of the club should of done something about it earlier.

Way too one dimensional when Brown is the only target. And when he is having a bad game and not taking his marks he must learn to bring the ball down to dangerous spots so Turner/Hrovat etc. can have an impact at ground level.

Disgusting 4 quarters of football. Throw the tape in the bin, will never watch a second of that game again.

Wood and McDonald deserve to be dropped after career best games last week. That's how bad they were.

Brown and Ziebell were woeful, the whole midfield was absolutely shithouse.

Tarrant did a ****ing great job considering all the ball they had.

Turner tried his absolute guts out all game.

Anyone still think Scott is a better coach than Longmire?
if he were the skills coach i would likely say no. honestly, we went so poor by foot, and the hands were pretty sloppy as well. you would think we were playing out at Waverley in a downpour with 25km/h wind watching tonight. and what is with Ben brown never having someone at the fall of his marking efforts, thats of coarse on the odd occasion where we actually put it out in fromt of him rather than bombing it 20 meters sidewards.

With no second tall forward they just rolled off and double teamed Brown. And we kicked it long and high the whole game expecting an injured 200cm beanpole with two blokes inside his colon to win us the game.

We lost to last years runners up. Fair enough.

But fmd our skills were shithouse and we just let them bully us all around the ground and we looked like we had cement boots.

Apart from about three players the rest should hang their heads in shame.

And can someone please explain what illegal disposal is ? I swear there was at least a dozen from sydney

No Waite no North

I didn't even look to see if anyone else wrote this...

Great minds and all that.

Not that simple tho. More like no Waite/Garner and 2 other mobile forwards no North.

Lost it cos we broke down on the HF line. Like many of our games this year.

Up until this game I thought we were just having a couple of bad games against the Sydney mids but we're officially their bunnies. but even so, a half decent HF line and we would still have pushed alot closer than that.

Everyone is having a crack at the forwards etc dont know how many times tge ball went over the head of our forwards. Surely thats not just them running under it and the amount of times the ball wasnt to advantage or 2 on 1s was very poor fwd 50 entries

Brown can't compete in a wrestling contest with one bloke let alone 2. Yet we kicked it to that situation countless times. That was dumb by the kickers and not brown's fault. What was Brown's fault was a couple of his efforts when he wasn't wrassling. Disappointed. Still, stay at home gorilla just isn't his role or forte.

Inside mids got torched beyond belief. Kennedy is a freak of nature, he is just so god damned tall and thick, our blokes look like short people next to him. Rips us up every game. Most of our mids should be dressed down for a lot of their efforts. 'Bad' doesn't quite sum it up. There was rarely a good connection with Goldy, and even more rare was our accountability and ability to not get sucked into a contest.

Defenders did well overall. Jmac and Atley were both terrible. At least Atley was moving forwards more than backwards.

Wood was unseen, and when he was near it he would just screw up. Had a mare.

Turner was BOG with **** all possessions. Was probably involved with almost all of our good chains.

Taz did great IMO.

Durdin should learn a bit from his game, was happy enough with him. Hopefully Simpkin isn't in that bad of a way.

I'm used to Jack and Ben disapearing. Worrying to see Dumont do even better at that than them. Clarke was... mixed... some encouraging signs and teachable moments.

Jed is still an 'almost' player. Constantly a half meter or a half second off of doing really well.

We lost the game when Waite was out and we didn't go with a better forward set up. He makes us so much more unpredictable, and frees up all our other talls.

Not sure what to make of Hansen's game. meh.

meh.

mehmehmehmehmehmeh.

I can't believe we still have it in our head that Brown is a number 1 forward. He needs an impact player otherwise he is cactus.

Last year we stocked 3 talls and they went small and ran it out.

Sydney seem pretty adept at reading how we'll structure and countering it.

That loose back marking the long ball had shades of Hodge doing it time and again on numerous occasions we've played the Hawks.

Who knows what we'll get next week. The team is an enigma.
