Hear hear. Probably cost us a flag. Doesn't get more disappointing than that.not kicking straight in the first quarter of the PF
... than Sydney? I'll save you some angst there, footy doesn't work that way. If team A whips team B after which team B whips team C then why when I do my footy tips does team C often turn around and whip team A? It's entirely possible that had we kicked another goal in the PF that it would have been us copping a 10 goal loss to Sydney last weeend.

ok reality is our footy was good enough to take the flag. reality is we blew it.We were 3rd. Results decide that, not your feelings.
Cant agree PS. We play Sydney we win. Play Hawthorn and we win in a tight one or a very close loss. We were not beat by more than, what was it ? 28 points all year. We were ripe, cherry ripe for finals. Hawthorn had older heads and that was the difference for us taking that cup. Something burns in these boys.... than Sydney? Would like to see how the Victorian umpire conspiracy theory explains the five or so free kicks we got in a row against Hawthorn that helped us get back into the game before the HTB against Jonas? Especially how Monfries received a free kick in the goalsquare for jumping into Gibson.
Essendon in 2011 and Norf in 2013 are the only games where I could believe that the umpires were out to get us. I'd put the umpiring in the Hawthorn game down to incompetence, not bias.

we will never know, or could ever say, but the week before v the hawks 29 scoring shots to 22, started and finished all over them, we were good enough, just didnt get it done.Reality is that we blew the chance to make a GF. Would we have won? There is no way we would have done to Sydney what the Hawks did - the way their older, bigger, stronger, more experienced players just smashed Sydney in the first half. But there is more than one way to skin a cat and we might have eked out a close win. But we will never know.
Why would a competition which invests so heavily in equalisation, promotion of its success across multiple states and expansion want non-Victorian teams to lose?
Not sure if srs.Is that why the Grand Final is always played at the MCG...
