Pickett would be killing it already if he was in a good side.

I'll run my ratings on which of the newbies I see to be valuable long term prospects (the early call):

Marchbank - 9
Pickett - 7
Petrevski - 10
Fisher - 8
Macreadie - 6
Polson - 5
Kerr - 2
Williamson - 8
LeBois - 4

Will have another look later this year.

We are discussing the rumour that hawthorn will delist JOR so we can pick up as DFA in payment for us doing them a solid to get JOM.

I still don't understand how a former Pick2 cant get a game with the Hawks ............. something fishy.

Not really. Look at Aish at Collingwood for example.

There will always be some players that simply put the brakes on, after a very promising junior career and quite often, they seem to be outside players.

Keep him in, he needs a break out game. Hasn't executed well with ball in hand but hopefully that will come. Speed of game in seniors is intense so he needs to stay on that path. Reserves would be a backward step. Needs a slice of luck then maybe he will be more composed if he feels pressure valve has been released.

Other thing is I'm sure he's improving fitness every week so maybe in time with more games under belt he will get to more contests. Remember some of us didn't think he would even be a factor this year.

But he needs to use the ball better. That should be his aim. Composure. Make the opp hurt when you get it. Burn them with pace but USE IT. BE COMPOSED.

Yeah agreed. The step down is too great for it to have any net benefit fitness wise IMO. He simply needs time and games at senior level.

pretty much agree though Id add another point for Macreadie and Polson. ;) Kerr is very much a smokey, but I quite liked what I saw the other day against Williamstown.

Kerr is more the lead up forward, isn't he? I like! A bit of Fev in him.
Definitely something we lack right now as well, although I'd imagine SOS would play that role once he fills out.

Kerr could be the one that improves the most. Runs straight and hard at the footy. A good size without being "too big"

Was touted as a Top 30 pick by some.....I like also

Yeah agreed. he was always that speculative pick given his connection to the club etc. Though, he could be that biggest improver of all our picks, you're right.

True.

The irony here is that one of the reasons Aish was taken so high was his form in 2 senior SANFL premiership winning teams.

But done sweet FA at AFL level.

Go figure.......

I'm confused, I thought this was the Rumour section but it looks more like List Management Mark II.

Remember how there used to be like 14 specialised positions on the field and now everyone except for the ruck and four talls are basically midfielders?

Well it's the same here. If it's not a competition or an 80's music thread set up by Tony Lynn 15, then it's a pseudo List Management Thread...

Totally agree - really caught my on Saturday for Northern Blues.

Your traditional full forward, but a nice kick, which we haven't had since Feva

Yep without doubt, any thread by TL15 is simple and easy to follow!

For now, he stays in the Senior 22. It's not as if Lamb, Sumner or Le Bois is playing VFL, or Gallucci is playing well enough to push Pickett out.
Why not use two forward positions to rotate Polson, Fisher and SPS through the game more?

If Wright and Pickett aren't turning pressure into tackles or opportunities and aren't staying in the game, why shouldn't we try other options there when we've got young, quick players who make good decisions with the footy and try to apply pressure?

As the year goes on I think we will have less than 7 teenagers at once and we may well do just that. Perhaps Polson plays more forward this week.

Guess it means that Palmer, Kerridge, Armfield and Graham, and Thomas, play midfield more after the bye with SPS and Fisher more forward ...

Macreadie surely looks good?
