The below are all made up figures based on how I've read into things :D

- Captains announced tonight at the BnF 100%
- Sam Mitchell a chance again with Hawks filling their coaching roles already. This could be the big news announced tonight at the BnF 50%
- Shiel likely to nominate Monday - 40% Us / 60% Hawks
- Setterfield - 60% Us / 40% Bombers/GWS
- Gaff - 5% Us / 95% North Melbourne
- SPS to be traded - 0%

As previously stated 1000 pages ago by who i cant remember:

I found this article on the AFL's website:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-12/the-futurepick-puzzle

AFL.com.au
confirmed with the AFL that as long as a club has two first-round picks in a four-year period, they comply with the rules surrounding future first-round draft picks that were introduced ahead of last year's trading period.

Those rules introduced last season state that clubs must make at least two first-round selections in each four-year period or face restrictions from trading any further first-round draft picks and that clubs can trade one year in the future only.

Hawthorns last 4 years
2017 3rd Round
2016 5th Round
2015 1st Round
2014 2nd Round

So if Hawthorn are unallowed to use future picks (Unless i missed something)...what is their offer other than pick 15 & 32 (probably less after free agency) plus ceglar...I cant see GWS handing over Shiel to a direct Rival like Hawthorn who are also in their premiership window for so little.

This may surprise people but the AFL have made a complete balls up of this. Their current position is that while you have to use 2 ifrst round draft picks in 4 years (starting from 2015) the 4 year period isn't up until the end of the 2018 trade period and therefore teams can do what they want in this trade period and the penalty of not being able to trade a first round pick can't be applied until next years trade period.

This means the Hawks can trade their 2018 AND 2019 first rounder this year, but if the don't trade their 2019 this year they can't next year. They also won't be able to trade their 2020 regardless and if they trade their 2019 they will have to keep their 2021.

A lot of people are prioritising Walsh below Setterfield, etc. Surely he has to go higher than this.
Not sure we should sell the farm on a 28 year old. Starting to stink of the Judd messiah thing.

I'd rather see:
Pick Mummy as a state player on the guarantee he goes to GWS.
Mummy for Setterfield and steak knives either way
Pick 1: Walsh
2nd round and other state player for McGovern. Lets Charlie go onto a wing and through the middle for sh!ts and giggles
Trade out Casboult and Jones and forward that onto Doggies for Libba
Keep SPS

You don't see what is posted in there and then deleted.

I think those people who quote rumours from the main thread onto the no discussion thread are providing a service to those who don't want to trudge through the endless nonsense. They deserve their likes.

Just to add to my reply above, I agree with you totally but that is not what I was alluding to gandaal

Some posts are being reported as well for several reasons.

Just popped over and had a look at the Cats threads....gone into meltdown over the Kelly announcement

The're pretty good at poaching from other clubs, but don't seem to be real good at it when it's happening right back at them....

ps they've started up a Levi Casboult thread
Can you imagine poor old Levi’s ball drop blowin in the wind down at sleepy hollow.

LOL Terry the list manager Wallace and Damian bell-end Barrett just discussing how Fasolo would take a 3rd round pick or so to get done from Carlton.

How the F do these guys not know he's a free agent. All they do 24/7 is monitor the AFL player environment and they get basic shit like this wrong - laughable!
