Dunstan is a better player than Kerridge

Sounds like our chances of nabbing either Shiel or gaff quite heavily relies on getting the other...

Eg if gaff knows we're getting Shiel, he's more interested in joining us as he'd be more confident of our short term future.

Probably same for Shiel. No doubt big part of hawks pitch would be more likely immediate success than Carlton and playing with mature midfield support in Mitchell, jom, Smith and Shiels.

But if he knew gaff was coming...

I would certainly suggest that Gaff would/ could reassess us as his landing destination should we be able to secure MM and Shiel. Im not sure that without a commitment from both of these players at least, that we would be a viable option at present.

You are kidding right?

A player of Gaff's ilk, will not end up in the PSD, SOS wouldn't do it, nor will Gaff be part of it.

WC match the bid, not to keep him, but to force better value than the compo pick, as the Crows did with Danderfield

Dangerfield is the only time that has happened, and it happened because Geelong gave him unders on his contract, ie they were happy to pay for him in draft picks rather than contract dollars.

If Gaff chooses Carlton, we’ll be paying in $$$, we won’t give up any players or picks

Shiel isn't a better footballer than Docherty. He is quality but just below elite status.

If we miss on Shiel, Dunstan is a solid plan B who will help Cripps whilst others develop.

Confident we will land setters who is another super talent.

Walsh will be our version of Josh Kelly, don't trade 1 unless the offer is too good to refuse!

Based on what criteria exactly? There can hardly be a like for like comparison, they don't even play the same position let alone have the same attributes as each other.

No way SOS, sends him to the PSD, nor will Gaff be a party to it. We would hand something over, slightly better than the compo pick they would get

If the compo is there to be had, why not let em take it from the AFL's pocket instead of CFC's and simply give them slight overs on another trade eg a separate pick swap...

I'd like to know how we can turn that into Scrimshaw instead.

A pick after their first round pick, so 19.

He's a solid addition to the list if his contract and trade value are cheap. We've got a pick in the 60s.

Agreed, I like Brodie, but would prefer Scrimshaw.

I’m not worried about our list. It is chock full of talented kids that should bring the result. SOS has seen to that.
What I’m concerned about, is what I have been raising for a year or 2. Burning the kids out and not supporting them with quality and losing them because we do not improve to play finals, quick enough. That is a huge concern and has been proven with other teams. Cripps, Curnow, Weitering, Marchbannk, Dow, Fiasher, etc....will be chased by other teams, as all good top end picks are and we need to be in a position to have our club a power again or we lose them.

GWS and GC are the 2 clubs we have set this blue print up against - take note of their prediciment.

100% This!
