When SOS started us on this journey he said that the goals over the coming years would be not only to add the best players but also the best people - staff and otherwise - to the club. He's had highly successful trade periods, we've added Cain Liddle, Lloyd, and today we've added Andrew Russell. The club has changed astronomically for the better in every facet.

We may have only won two games this year but the growth of the organisation far outweighs any lack of on field success that we've had. Key people around the AFL all acknowledge and understand how far we've come. We're building an absolute giant. We'll be unstoppable on field and off when all is said and done.

We're coming and we can now begin to smell their fear.

OK I'll start with a confession. I went away for a while and was about 30 pages behind when I returned. You cannot catch up from there so I skipped to the last 4 (which then became the last 10 by the time I caught up) so somewhere I have missed the pick 42 story.

Can someone enlighten me please?

State league Kruger to Geelong for 42 (they acquired in a trade of Lincoln McCarthy to Brisbane)

Out: trigg, McKay, hocking
In: liddle, Lloyd, russell

Huge.

Just need a highly rated midfield coach now. Our vacancy would surely be attractive, the chance to coach a bunch of young guns. And maybe Shiel. And of course Cripps.

The great thing about all this is we could not have had a worse year. Everything went wrong. BUT the club stuck together and stayed on the path they set. We have great leaders in MLG Silvagni Judd Bolts Liddle Lloyd and now Russell. The players are happy and see the future. Our list is full of great talent and players and staff see that and that's why they want to be a part of it. They see an exciting future.

We may not be perfect but we are well on the right track. It's great and it will get better and better

Go Blues :)

Hope you're right. My concern is that we're caught in "get Shiel" hysteria - no matter the price. As you say, I guess we have to trust that sos is keeping a level head.

Although 7 x 1.1m sounds like a bl**dy good deal for Shiel. Just worried we're not going to enjoy the last 3 years of it (which, if dependent on triggers, we won't be able to front load).

Way more confident that wont be an issue now that Russell has come on board.

I am ****ing amped to see what Andrew Russell does with Jacob Weitering in the next 12-24 months. If there's a player on this list who will benefit the most from Russell's high performance knowledge it is Jacob.
