There are a few, for various reasons.

Parfitt
Menegola
Bews
Narkle
S Selwood

Parfitt you would think is the most unlikely to move, but he is a real favourite of mine, so would certainly ask the question.

The others might be gettable, many will disagree, but would look at them for sure.
There was mail we were interested in s selwood a few weeks back

Doesn't make much sense, unless it was in a coaching capacity.

No way he holds Ed out of the side, and the last time he cracked 15 games in a season was 2013.

He's not "old", but his body is.

Wouldn't be against getting him into the club in an off-field role though.

Not read much since yesterday. Any news of the mega 3 way trade involving Oliver, Shuey and Cripps yet ?
A summary of what I missed since late yesterday would be nice if anyone got the time.
Thanks in advance.

Because Talia is a huge upgrade on all of those mentioned except for Weitering.

Weitering and Talia would be an unstoppable combination.

Not sure we lack KPD'S

Talia is a great pure defender, but, there is little difference in age to Jones, who despite his flaws has more strings

Levi, only 18 months older

Don't know if there's a more appropriate thread. But is anyone listening to SEN interview with Craig Jennings.

What an insight into club coaching tactics. Obviously a very good analyser of the game.

Really impressive interview. Too much info to sum up but highly recommend you give it a listen once SEN load it up.

Weitering is a better attacking option than Talia. Why would we use currency on Talia when we have Jones and weitering as locked in options with Levi, goddard and bsos as back ups?

We wouldn't.

Even if you could argue Talia is better than Jones/Weitering (debatable imo), he'd improve our defence only marginally...barely any difference.

What's the point of spending our precious trade assets on a player we don't need and is barely an upgrade on what we already have? Some people don't seem to take that into consideration at all.

Jones and Weitering are already are formidable duo.

So you'd trade our precious few good assets recruiting Talia when we've already got so many good KPD options, instead of using it for someone we actually need like Papley? That's a waste and poor list management.

Nailed it - and for a late draft pick that's not a bad return.

If he's replaced in a few years, so be it, but I reckon he improves us immediately and has the potential to be a solid long-term player.

Low cost, low risk, medium reward - value recruitment.
Yeah, that's about right. I didn't say I don't want him just that I'm not that excited by him.

It'd be a shrug of the shoulders by me, unless we gave up more than expected.

Just got this of the main board.

Hey all long time reader, first time poster. I have it first hand from the mouth of the man himself, Sam Gray will be wearing the navy blue next year. Im pretty good mates with 50 shades of Sam and he personally will be at Carlton due to Ports salary problems and Swans wanting to keep a hold of Papley. There are a lot of internal problems behind closed doors.

You forgot to include this part DD ...

Also best mates with David Koch's nephew, (Miles) and there is word from the port president that there is a huge attempt to pull Allister Clarkson back to port for the head coaching role.

Very believable from a 'first time' poster'.

Heard a few minutes of it about 15 minutes back but did not hear long enough to know whom it was talking.
Thanks for pointing out the name. Will download that later to listen to in car.

You know we have the 3rd best in the league at this, right? M Murphy is behind only Sir Duckwood and Rhys "The Beast who can't find the ball" Mathieson.

Murphy is not a serial ducker

Big difference from attracting head high contact and dropping the knees ala Grimes/Selwood

I just see download available now.

I don't know about that, I think Murphy went through a phase of ducking exactly as Selwood does/did. He was never as bad as him don't get me wrong, he didn't do it anywhere near as often, but there were plenty of times I kinda grimaced a bit after he was awarded the free. It was only for a few of seasons, but he definitely did it

I wonder how many first round picks Geelong will Offer for Charlie Curnow?

Reported!

Aph where is your red card?!

I don’t think I mentioned anything about what I would trade for Talia.

All I mentioned was that he is an upgrade on what we have.

Jones might have more strings than Talia but his flaws hurt us at times.
(Cost is the game against Melbourne)

I like what Jones gives us, just think Talia is a big upgrade.

Legend thanks for posting that up. Seriously impressive interview.

Says he wants a VFL coach role. Would definitely enquire for northen blues.

Also if he did want to stay at AFL level I think we should look at him tofill John Barkers role. Teague could use a mind like that in his corner.

I have no idea why everyone is obsessed with Talia, yes he'd be an upgrade on Jones, yes I'd take him if he was free, but the fact is if we trade for Talia, kiss goodbye any chance of getting Papley, Martin, or any A grade mids we may be targeting. It'd be stupid to trade for a slight upgrade in defence instead of an elite forward or mid.
