Talking staff movement, with Mick gone - surely Buttifant will be sent packing, too?

The amount of foot injuries and soft tissue niggles we've had this year is ridiculous. Wipe the slate clean.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we ditched our entire coaching structure barring Laidley and Rocca.

not his fault...the entire league has this issue...

Dissapointed to hear that Rice is likely to choose the Saints. He looked very promising at VFL level from what I saw.

I'm actually happy regarding out foot detection procedures. It's an injury that i believe is very hard to diagnose unless your looking and I'm willing to bet a lot of players play undiagnosed.

I agree Laidley and Rocca to stay, Get another senior assistant mentor for Bolton to work with and then let him choose who he wants at Forward and defence coach.

The entire league doesnt have the issue of having a good first quarter followed by 3 quarter of fadeout - whilst im sure theres a mental element, there HAS to be a fitness element to it.

If that's the case (haven't listened yet) then it's a very similar realisation and attitude to kouta after he was named captain post-sanctions. Good on them both.:thumbsu:

When asked if he would prefer Schache or Weitering to join them, he said the key defender please. Made me feel sorry for them with how much pressure they had been under. Although when they suggested getting Carlisle for CHB and drafting Schache, he said he would love those two.

Not sure whether that is a reflection on Sam Rowe or not but Jamo could always explain it away by suggesting they need 3 talls down there.

I'm no expert, but does anyone suspect this might have something to do with the "pristine" playing surfaces the AFL wants to dish up all the time? Imagine the grounds are quite hard these days, very rarely see any mud, and players complain the minute someone slips over.

I would disagree, the are professional AFL players not under 16s. This league has more training and fitness than any other league. 90% of the guys in the team could give a F*** right now.

Not really sure, but I'm guessing "all the above" are possibilities...plus the limitation in rotations, added endurance.....putting crap in your body without fulling knowing the consequences could contribute..

I must reiterate, it's not set in stone. I've just heard that's the way he's leaning at the moment. Could be (and hope I am) completely wrong.
Nothings set in stone. Last season we were locks for Tom Boyd according to many informed posters on here.....things change.

EDIT: Whilst ive said it will be disappointing if he goes elsewhere, at the same time, the current discounts under Father-Son are less generious to clubs like ours with multiple players in the one draft. We may be better off just taking best available, then trying to match rival bids.

Even if he chooses the Saints, I wish him all the best. We have more than a few half back flankers anyway.

Surely our senior players will benefit him more compared to what St.Kilda have to offer going forward when you look at education.

We dont have much but I think we have more than the Saints have Murphy, Kreuzer, Gibbs, Thomas, Everitt, Docherty, Curnow will still be around for a fair while yet.

Riewoldt and Montagna are just about done and they really only have Steven and Armitage that I can think off that I would be listening to.

Saints may have a better next 2 years then us but I think we will be ahead of them in say 3 or 4 years time if this years draft/trading go well.

Sos, Judd and maybe Carrazzo as off field mentors in some capacity would be appealing also.

Rice might be the next Sam Sheldon. *hides under same table Kreuzer is supposedly on*
Rice has already achieved more than Sheldon did at TAC Cup level by representing the state at the National Champs and would be confident he will carve out a better AFL career also.

Get out from under that must keep table and behave....:D
