We'll have 77 threads by year 7, half of them will consist of people telling us there's nothing wrong with his contract cause he holds his ground against the likes/equivalents of Ceglar and Big O.

I have to admit Ive been very vocal & harsh on Grundy this year, so apologies I'm going to go even harder!

I thought he said something along the lines of one day he'll go back to SA, then he signed a 7 year contract, so evidently not one day soon.

The scuttlebutt at the time was similar $$$'s to the Adelaide offer over 7 years instead of 5.

I don't need anyone to blame. It was a business transaction. Nothing I could have done to influence it either way. I'm happy with the deal. He's the best player in our side in terms of consistency and durability and should be remunerated as such. Probably would have been happier if it was only 6 years or less but it is what it is.

I said similar about Buddy on his Swans deal but looking like he’ll get there. I can’t see Grundy going anywhere.

I’m no Grundy hater but if port or adel took his contract for 600k with us paying 300 I’d take it, front load it next two years and pay 600k per season off, and play lynch. Short term pain to see an end to chronic mismanagement

That is simply an insane amount of money to pay a top 3 ruck to play for another team. He is a premier player, paying for him to play elsewhere is madness.

You wouldn't have to pay that much anyway. I don't think you'd have to pay a cent for the next 3 years of his contract. For someone to take on the last three you probably would have to pay a fair bit. If you paid that, it would make his contract appropriate so you would expect a big trade price.

Grundy's a star, he doesn't exactly have a class stacked midfield around him each week. Not up to him to carry the whole set up.
IMHO his contract is way overs but some of the commentary here is laughable.

I like that these comments only get replied to when he's playing badly.

He is still a premier ruckman. His consistency of effort is all over the place, which has changed and is inexcusable, but he also has a woeful midfield around him.
