I have to ask the question, is he carrying an injury because he doesn't look super fit out there?

The salary is what it is and quite frankly it’s a boring argument. It’s really the length of the contract rather than the annual effect on the salary cap that I have some issues with but we can’t change that.
To regain AA standard is the ideal but realistically speaking we need him to be somewhere near that… even if he doesn’t quite reach those heights. He needs basically to catch the ball more… both contested and uncontested… and that will instantly improve his disposal efficiency because kicks taken after marks give you more time to hit the target.
As a ruckman and ruck/clrearance beast he’s still doing his job very effectively
Ignorance is bliss.why would I bother, I know you’re wrong
I think it’s fair enough that questions are being asked about his form. With a bit of luck he reads it & pulls his finger out.
A fired up Grundy will make us better.
You might want to re-check your maths. According to that table, he is above most of them in terms of percentages - Pittonet surprisingly is extremely high in terms of HTA% and Witts very high in both hitouts and hta. Those stats suggest that Grundy is probably second to Witts in terms of ruckwork this year.Grundy going at 7% effective tap outs to advantage
not when you factor in the amount of ruck contests he's had compared to others, besides wittsYou might want to re-check your maths. Those stats are good. You misread them. Good hta percentages in terms of both contests won and overall contests. They really should look at differentials though rather than just percentage won. Him getting to more ruck contests is a good thing, it has enabled us to play only 2 tall forwards in most of our games, rather than having the liabliity that is our 3rd tall. Grundy's workrate to get to so many contests and the flexibility that creates is an underestimated part of his contribution. He's not worth top dollar, but he's still a valuable player.not when you factor in the amount of ruck contests he's had compared to others, besides witts
I know he's still a good player, it's just been a couple of frustrating years, hopefully he can turn it aroundThose stats are good. You misread them. For purely ruckwork: Witts and Nicnat if he wasn't so unfit.I'll frame it another way, which ruckman in the leauge are better than him?
So third best ruckman in the leauge in your opinion. For purely ruckwork: Witts and Nicnat if he wasn't so unfit.
For contribution after the ruck contest: Gawn is the best by a mile. English probably has Grundy covered, Jackson will soon.
Depends what you want or need from your ruckman. So third best ruckman in the leauge in your opinion.
The salary is a boring argument, except when it comes to the art of list management. The angst is going to go through the roof if we can't afford De Goey. Really, I think the club probably made a misstep on Grundy, but I understand at the time he was probably the number 1 ruck in the game. The length of the deal here plays a role because the game changes so quickly and players get bypassed pretty fast. No one can predict what it'll look like in 5 years. Like, 5 years ago, the keepings-off style was the number one style. That's an aeon ago.
His tap work in the last quarter was crucial to us nearly winning the game.
