Oppo Camp Brodie Grundy (Traded to Melbourne 2022)

The last I checked WHE is a Pies player. Love him.
Grundy and Henry are not. They're the enemy now.

You might want to check earlier posts, to see that the obsession was well and truly there when Grundy was contracted to us.

I don't care too much, but I do wonder how someone can repeat themselves without beginning to think they have a neurological or psychological issue.

I'm guessing, from the posts on here, Grundy drinks soy. Can someone please let him know that apparently, it affects fertility. He is a 100 game Collingwood player.
Move to oat or almond please.

Go to the Henry thread. Poor WHE cops it daily on many threads.
Easier to scroll past if you don't like it.
I often do this when WHE is getting shite posts. I must be in the minority. Happy fly likes him.
Nothing in any of those threads is close to the obsession by one poster in this thread

You just don’t seem to get it. What was actually shown was that we didn’t need a $1Mil Ruckman to make the top 4. And that our cap would be better spent getting pieces that would actually improve our depth than to have it under a non team productive and a non co-operative individual. Had he not gotten injured he may well still be on our list….let’s be grateful for small mercies.

With his absence we were able to repurpose a forward/ruck that was on the chopping block(Big Cox) into potentially our No.1 Ruckman. And by forcing the two big boys to work in tandem and not as bit part Ruckman, we were able to forge a ruck combination that undoubtedly replaced Soy Boy and added some much needed marking strength around the ground and especially in our defensive lines as support.

And seeing as you bring up Murphy. Yes he was and integral part of why we catapulted ourselves into the finals and then secured a top 4 spot. He was the other key, that solidified our defensive unit and allowed us to arrest the defensive lapses that haunted our earlier games. It wasn’t always perfect. But boy oh boy was Murphy’s courage well needed and appreciated by his teammates.

Let’s look forward 6 months now with Soy Boy’s millstone contract gone, we’ve been able to bring in a genuine KPF McStay and another small forward Hill. And a 30+ possession former Brownlow midfielder Mitchell, to add some more strings to our bow. Genuine best 22…..

So I thank Soy Boy…..the sacrifice the was made, has made us better and also given him a chance to show his wares at the Dreamons. Win-Win.

We’ve gone over this stuff before - it does nothing to support you’re absurd insistence that Grundy’s absence was the reason we went on a winning streak.

If we go backwards this year you’ll just find someone else to blame.

I already think we’ll go backwards. The draw is tougher for us even with the inclusions we’ve made. I’ve stated in the ladder thread that we’d probably finish 5th as an optimistic position. But anywhere between 5th-8th is highly likely. And I’d still be pleased. Not making the top 8 would be seen as a poor season. Especially with what happened last year.

But like last year, I’ll be hopeful and grateful for everything I see from our players. As long as everyone is on the same page and we have a singular focus.

I’m finally in a place that I can see that those in control of our football department are only interested in winning Premierships. That they see things that we’ve all been seeing. And they’ll try their very best to enable our group of players to produce their very best. And if it is good enough we’ll win. If it isn’t we won’t.

At least we’ve seen from last season that anything is possible. And that every little thing matters in winning games and being the best you can be for the team matters.

That none of the usually suspects on here will admit that we went on a tear from the time Soy Boy lost his status in the team. And the boys that took over were greatly appreciated by their mates for putting their heads down and bums up and getting on with their jobs at hand.

Fly’s rendering the harsh reality to Soy Boy was no secret. Only maybe to the many nay sayers and the blissfully naive on here. His aloofness and distant nature were glaringly obvious. And it showed is his own stats padding. What was good for Soy Boy wasn’t naturally what was good for the Pies or our following midfielders. And that’s why he had to go. If Fly wanted him, he would still be here.

The Cameron and Cox combination and dynamic sure as hell gave us a different looking set-up and they were big parts to the 11 game winning streak.

And as I said from the beginning, Fly let you all know what he thought of Soy Boy in the end…..

You can lead a horse to water…..

But if no-one is there to see it does it really make a sound…..

I loved Madge

It helped that I didn't think of him as a footballer

More like a ground attendant who had wandered too far from the fence
One of my nephews made it onto the MCG after some major game - security guard said "you shouldn't be here, get off".

Nephew replied "it's ok I won a competition".

Security guard "ok then".

Depends on how quietly it drinks and the distance others may be from the trough. Perhaps its lips flutter almost noiselessly rather than hoovering at the water's surface, so no one hears other than the horse itself. More likely the animal carelessly slurps the liquid through its gnashing teeth while simultaneously chomping noisily on its bit, and the sound is heard some distance off.

And begrudgingly…..

Cameron and Cox were huge. Have a look at how we went when Begg played (not having a crack at Begg).

But we were much better with Cameron/Cox duo.

That's not the point - the game plan was by far the greatest contributor to our improvement - not the absence of Grundy as WW insists.
Yes Cox/Cameron were good, but not enough to override the contribution of the Game plan to our improvement.

A few tipping Melbourne for the flag - will be shi##y if BG wins flag this year
