Whilst I agree that he was not the best player this year, that's the Brownlow.
Any award reform would kill the allure and mystique of the medal. In most sports the MVP is pretty well confirmed by popular and media opinion. Half the fun of the Brownlow is not knowing who will win.
The NBA wouldnt manage to have a four hour telecast to confirm belief that Durant beat out LeBron last year.

A more reliable award will also mean a far less appreciated award

Its simple you shrimp eaters, brownlow isn't awarded to the best player, it's awarded to the player that plays good footy week in week out!! If it was awarded to the best player there would be no brownlow as it would be awarded to Ablett at the beginning of a seasons every season!!!!!!!!!

lol wut? Woewodin got there the "essendon" way.. Priddis got there via good clean hard work and determination to get the best out of himself despite his limitations and play a role for the club week in week out. Priddis=workhorse, Woewodin=charters' mate.

Can't believe people are saying things like it's undeserved. How can someone who shows up every week putting 110% effort in, doing all the hard stuff for his teammates while leading the comp for disposals as well as being up there for clearances and tackles be undeserving of the medal. He is the most consistent and prolific player in the comp if not, close to it. He's not flashy, but he gets the job done every week and doesn't get hyped up by the Victorian media like most other players do. Im so happy for him cause he well and truly gets the most out of himself and deserves some recognition for a change. People saying he wouldn't get a spot in their teams can get f***** cause he'd be one of the first picked in most teams in the comp and a well deserving Brownlow medalist.

This decision just proves the umps are blind after all! FFS even Brent Harvey polled 3 votes in a game North lost by 6 goals....yes he got 30 possessions, but they were the most ineffective disposals you'd ever see. Priddis is a good, honest workhorse, but seriously....a Brownlow! Maybe Cooney's medal wasn't so ridiculous after all.
