Jamison i would say is better than any of Hawthorn's defenders but i would take Gibson over Laidler & Duigan.

I think both teams defences are better than a lot of opposition supporters make out.

Yup ..a few years ago Carltons backline was ordinary to say the least...and for BF plebs this is enough to say they have no decent defenders ....they were the samw when Fev left ..Carlton will have nobody to kick their goals .

We are fine for KPD's, I'd say we have one of the best backlines in the league when everyone's fit, Jamison, Duigan and Laidler are better then any defender at Hawthorn ...

duigan and laidler are not true kpd, but they both have the ability to play quite tall and could do a job on most key forwards in the game.

jamo and henderson are our first choice kpds though.

Awesome, I'm not saying they aren't good players, I'm just not convinced anyone who doesn't barrack for Carlton would prefer Duigan over say Birchall, 4 years younger, AA squad last year, 110 games more experience, premiership player, better at football etc..

Sydney are no chance for top 4, we belted them twice last year and they always get smashed by Geelong and Collingwood etc.

The Swans record against top sides in recent years is even worse then ours ...

We were one kick away from making the Preliminary final, and have stitched up Geelong at the MCG the last few times we played them there.
I know have the mindset fearing no other team in the comp and hope the players feel the same.

Whilst the flag might not be won in round 3... more often than not the team who wins the flag will drop 2, mayby 3 games for the year. Hawthorn were probably an exception in 08 losing 5 H&A games.

We ve only played 2 bottom 4 teams so far so not getting too carried away so far.

Should be a great contest next week against the Pies, and we ll have to be at our very best to be any chance of winning.

Gotta say though, that those saying we have no depth have to be kidding themselves. We ve played our first 2 games without 4 of our best 22 (Jamison, Warnock, Walker, Duigan) and our supposed weakest link our defence has held up fantastically...
