Yes he can and he will. Don't let his dodgy disposal cloud your judgement on his lock-down roles. Who was he playing on today? I believe it was Davey. Well, at least until Davey got subbed off because he was having no effect on the game.
Agree, in the age of fantasy football people expect bulging stats sheets.

not sure who I could trust to bring in for him anyway.

and I installed furniture for him so he has credits.

Yep. I think it was official when he sat there for a good 10 seconds on the wing thinking what to do with a number of options in space and then decided to get caught holding the ball. Rosa or Wellingham in to replace him when one returns.

Or Sheppard.

I missed chunks of the game and was distracted for much of the parts I watched so I can't comment on specific outs based on today's performance.

But generally, once everyone currently injured is fit, I'd like to see:
OUT: Sinclair, A.Selwood, Embley, Hams, Cripps, Brown
IN: Naitanui, Waters, Wellingham, McGinnity, Rosa, Mackenzie

Embley is looking painfully average. Skills are failing him and he is losing his legs, and realistically those were the only main things he brought to the table.

I'd like to see McGinnity in on the condition that he is given defensive jobs week in week out. None of the "floating around aimlessly in the forward line" bullshit that we saw in parts last year where his skills and decision making hurt us dearly. Whether it's a quick small forward or a dashing HBF, I want to see him stick to players, because I question Adam Selwood's ability to keep up with anyone of above average pace. If Mcginnity and Selwood can't shut down players consistently, I think we'd be better off with Sheppard or Wilson.

Ash Smith has a good record against Carlton, especially playing on Gartlett.
So I would expect him to come under consideration as well.
If Sheppard is okay he will likely come back in as well.

Out: Brown Brennan
In: Mackenzie Waters

A.Selwood Glass Schofield
Waters Mackenzie Hurn
Gaff Priddis Embley
Masten Kennedy Shuey
Lecras Darling Hill

Ruck: Cox Kerr S.Selwood
Int: Sinclair Hams Butler Sub: Cripps

We have been opened up by small forwards in the first 2 rounds. Rioli, Breust, Walters - all because we don't have lockdown small defenders, particularly agile ones.

Coming up against the three amigos we need someone in to dedicate themselves to the task.

Personally I think Brennan's pace could be an asset against say a Betts.

I'd be inclined on horses for courses to bring mcginnity in for the one game at the expense of butler.

Thought he was only missing 2 games (which would have him back this week)

We still have garlett and yarran - so mcginnity and selwood for those two roles, with brennan going out.

I much prefer Butler's creativity and strength under a high ball over mcginnity normally, but butler doesn't have the pace for the likes of those two.

Nic nat wont be back that's for sure, besides Sinclair looks ok, his work rate looks top class and will only get better working alongside Cox.

I think Mcginnity could be a chance purely for match ups but who was on Davey today? I thought it was Butler not Selwood but either way they both had good games imo barring that lazy arsed kick from butler across goal. That was stupid, he's a smart footballer though, good tackler and rarely gives the free away, I'm a big fan.

Also a fan of Brown, he's very athletic and has been doing well, maybe a touch behind Emac 1v1 but around the ground he's more useful. Real hard choices for the match committee. Feel sorry for Embley but would like Shep or Rosa to replace him when they're fit. Cripps tried well but could get a spell in the WAFL just to get a full game into him, don't want to keep the sub the same every week and I don't think he should be started this week.

Does no one else want Embley out? He's driving me crazy.

Him and Gaff alike

Both just seem to be coasting along at the moment.

The thing that made 2011 such an exciting year (and 2002) was maniacal tackling pressure from almost everyone on the field. Certainly everyone who wasn't in key position.

Last year we seemed to rely too much on simply natural talent and I posted early on we seemed more intent on coralling than being in the oppositions faces.

I want our team to be back to the ferocious tackling we had in 2011. It's damn exciting to watch, bloody effective and it means the team is showing intensity. It would mean we aren't giving up 13 goals to melbourne either

Rosa and Wellers are still a couple of weeks away, so I don't think that they are realistic in's at this point in time. Sheppard is borderline but I'm going to assume he is still a week away. McGinnity is coming under consideration but I'd like him to have another game in the WAFL - If he comes in underdone it will show.

With that in mind:

IN - Ash Smith, Beau Waters, Eric Mackenzie.
OUT - Jacob Brennan, Adam Selwood, Mitch Brown.
