Totally agree. If that guy ever gets another game for us we will go backwards again!!
I'm loving mc guane in the backline dont see the need to drop him.
I would love to see Edwards still in the team despite a bad game. Young fast player.

Wanna squeeze bowden in there somewhere coz he too good a player to be left out and as I said before chuck him in the forward line to further compliment Brown and mortan
There's no spot for Pets now, he can't replace anyone in this side now, unfortuantely for him, he's finished.

Maybe we can send him to the Saints with Fiona?

You get with the program. Bowden, Jacko and Collins were Emergencies. Connors has played shithouse at Coburg Seniors hence the reason he was dropped to the 2's.

Whoops, too many G&T's, got the C names mixed up. Ooops.

I don't understand why people don't rate this guy (McGuane). His kicking has improved, he went the longer option instead of the little short nowhere kick, he has good hands and he's got some mongrel and tenacity.

Bowden back in.... pfft please!

No change again unless Whitey is injured.

fully concur. Luke played a stirling game, under a barrage of incomong ball. Has also read the Thursfield book of risk taking in the last line of defence, and that says, hit a target, dont try and be a scientist, let others do what they get paid for, you do what you get paid for and "STOP"!!!!!!!!. Players that dont make errors are priceless!!!!

and yes, PLAY IT AGAIN SAM, HAVE FAITH TW!!!!!!!!!

The team had an off night compared to the last two weeks and they went down by under 3 to "supposedly" contenders. Stick with them. IMO, its the first sign in 10 years that that we have the formation of a "UNIT". A couple of tweaks and we are good to go. Get it rght and lets see 2009!!!!!!!!!!;)

I thought our backline (including Richo's chop-outs) was great tonight including McGuane. FFS they probably have the most potent forward line in the comp' and we forced them wide on most occasions. Remember they had over 50 forward 50 entries!

the backline wasnt that great except for richos chop outs, and better kicking could have easily seen a blowout just like against the dogs. they just cant rely on poor kicking to keep them in it and need to do something, because they dont seem to be able to work it out to the forward or hold on to the ball securely.

____en oath we can. They owe us, the whole ____ng comp has relied on ours for the lastt decade and a half, they all owe us one!!! That is shit, you put pressure on, it translates into innacuracy when the team shoots. IMO its a sign of a good side, or a good side in the making. ;)

come on, the majority were set shots from marks!

It looked to me like we deliberately played without an orthodox CHF. Had to rely on Brown and Morton to take marks on the 50. Whether this was a deliberate ploy or whether we were not kicking deep enough into the 50 was not evident to me on the telly.

Dude how many times have the same thing been said about us? ...and how many times have we lost because of our "inaccuracy"? Now dont know about you man, but i havent seen them hit that ____ing ball with such ferocity, for 10 years. Thats all i can put it down too as the difference. ;)

Why Hyde? He was hard tagging Bateman all night and did a fair job. I think he did what he was assigned to do, you can't drop someone for that.
He did do a fair job defensively, but he constantly shot us in the foot when he did get the ball. I don't think I can remember a passage of play today where he actually went forward with his disposal.

Basically the reason I want him out is because he will not be a future player when we become a winning side. I would rather have Jackson or another player in, who can play that shut-down role aspect, but also have another arrow to his bow.

Good idea. But Patto gives his all and is great with second efforts. The Saints Ruckmen aren't great anyway. Patto can beat Rix.
The problem has been that in the last three weeks when Patto has gone into the ruck we have been smashed out of the middle, one of the reasons the Bullies came back at us last week was because Patto was going up against Hudson and he was getting smashed and each hitout was going straight to a Bulldogs player.

Nothing against the guy, he gives everything he has, tries his guts out and chases and does alot of little things, but we need someone who is better as a ruckman.

For those of you suggesting that a few player take the week off, just a bit of info. Coburg aren't playing next weekend and then the following week Richmond has the week off as well. That being the case I don't see any reason for changes to be made purely to give blokes a rest, they will get that the week after. Players should only get dropped if someone in Coburg has better form than they do.

had nearly 30 touches. Are people on this site stupid??

How many of his 30 touches were uncontested in space. Sure he can run, but can he compete?
Has this guy ever won a 50/50 ball?

He's an attacking defender but his opponents bob up and hurt us with numerous goals.
Plays too lose.... but some people are too stupid to see that.

Out: White/Edwards
In: Bowden

B: King Thursfield Moore
HB: Newman Schulz McMahon
C: Richardson Tuck Tambling
HF: Deledio Polak Brown
F: Morton Bowden Riewoldt

R: Simmonds Johnson Foley

Int: McGuane, Hyde, Pattison, White/Edwards

I don't really want Bowden to line up as our long term fullfoward

So for me it's:
IN: Bowden
OUT: White (inj)

Hopefully we'll give Edwards another go to use his pace against the slower Saints

Hyde and Tucky can be used to tag Hayes and Dal Santo/Montanga

I don't like Hyde as a backman. Has a tendency to panic a bit, and got outmarked tonight (against a taller opponent).

IMHO he must only play as a half forward with short stints through the midfield. If these spots are covered, i'd change him out for another mid sized defender.

yeah hyde strains me a bit to, trys his guts out but often loses out in a contested situation, their weakneses we need to improve on

INS Bowden, Connors Hughes
OUT Polak Edwards Hyde

Are you trying to justify alledgedly he had 30 uncontested possessions it warrants being dropped. Yer he's not in and under but the quality of his run and carry and disposal is essential in todays game and you cannot possibly tell me there is someone at coburg who could do it better than him atm. He uses the ball alot better than say Raines or even Newman atm so I think its stupid to suggest he will be dropped.

i dont understand some people on this site, edwards is our future we need to play him regardless, so he had a bad game or two. i rather play edwards in tight pressured games like today, than bringing back bowden at this stage of the year. as far as im concerned it is going backwards. give the kids a go, let them make mistakes at least they learn.

Could not agree more. Edwards is the future i would not drop him to coburg based on 1-2 average games. Get with it people i would drop 1 or 2 others before him.

No changes.

Why change a team structure that has been fantastic in the last 3 weeks:confused:
If forced by injury, then Bowden to FF.

Interesting, these players have been nominated so far to be dropped

Edwards
McMahon
McGuane
Pattison
Hyde
Polak
White (inj)

So going by weight of numbers, are these players the weak link in the current quest for finals glory?
